CABINET APPROVES SIGNING OF PARTNERSHIP FRAMEWORK PROGRAM WITH UN UNTIL 2022

KYIV. Oct 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the signing of the Partnership Framework Program with the United Nations for 2018-2022 with a three-day revision.
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported the corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday.
The Cabinet granted the authority to sign the program to First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv.
The framework program envisages the signing of a new strategic document for five years for further financing by UN agencies, funds and programs, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade said.
UN assistance will be provided in four areas of partnership: 1) sustainable economic growth, environment and employment; 2) equal access to quality and inclusive services and social protection; 3) democratic governance, the rule of law and public participation; 4) the security of citizens, social cohesion and recovery with a special emphasis on the East.
The approximate amount of resources which is to be invested in the implementation of the Framework Program is $675.6 million.
The signing of the agreement should take place during the UN week dedicated to the UN Day, celebrated on October 24, 2017, as well as celebrating this year’s 25th anniversary of the UN in Ukraine.
