KYIV. Sept 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prometey group of companies will invest about UAH 20 million in the reconstruction of the newly acquired elevator in Cherkasy region until the 2018/2019 marketing year (MY, July-June).
“In early September Prometey bought an elevator in the village of Khatsky (Cherkasy region). The new elevator with a storage capacity of up to 10,000 tonnes is a complex of warehouses of a floor storage type. The elevator is in non-operating condition. Prometey by the start of the marketing year will invest about UAH 20 million in the renovation of the material and technical base of the elevator,” reads a press release from the group.
It is planned that in the first year of operation the capacity of the elevator in Cherkasy region will increase to 30,000-50,000 tonnes, over the next two or three years to 100,000 tonnes.
As part of modernization, it is planned to update laboratory equipment, repair warehouses, roofs, access roads and internal roads. It is also planned to upgrade the elevator electrification system, shipping points, grain transfer systems, work safety and grain storage systems. There is a railway station nearby, therefore it is planned to build a rail track to the elevator.
“Prometey is constantly developing, increasing the volume of shipment and expanding the geography of its activities. Cherkasy region is the sixth one in which Prometey operates. After the acquisition of an elevator in the village of Khatsky, the total volume of storage exceeded one million tonnes,” Prometey Group Head Rafael Goroyan said.
