The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine plans to open traffic on the new cable-stayed bridge in Zaporizhia in January next year, Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov has said.
“On December 22, the process of lowering the main structure of the cable-stayed bridge was completed and in January we will open traffic on it. This is a great event for the whole country, and especially for Zaporizhia, since vehicles have been stuck in traffic jams there for many years,” he said at the Great Construction: Roads and Bridges forum held in Kyiv on Friday.
At the same time, Kubrakov said that officially construction of this bridge began in 2004, and talks about it have been since the late 1980s.
