UFuture Investment Group has opened Plank Electrotechnic, Ukraine’s first plant to produce modern electrotechnical systems. The building of the enterprise meets international BREEAM sustainability standards (compliance with about 50 criteria for environmental construction). Plank Electrotechnic products are now undergoing EU certification procedures.
“We have invested $2.8 million in the enterprise and expect to return the investment within five years. The Ukrainian market is a priority, but the company plans to expand the outreach to Eastern European consumers. I believe that the development of modern technological industries is a very promising area, both from business and social points of view – it is not only profit, but also taxes and jobs,” Vasyl Khmelnytsky, the founder of UFuture, has said.
Plank Electrotechnic will produce about 4.6 million units annually and will compete mainly with Chinese and Turkish manufacturers on the Ukrainian market. This high-tech enterprise will produce electrical fittings, accessories and components: sockets, switches, mounting boxes, cable ties, buttons, etc.

The construction of three new plants at Bila Tserkva Industrial Park will start within the year, and 20 modern enterprises will be created in the next four years.

Biopharma, a manufacturer of products from human donor plasma, has begun commissioning work at a new fractionator plant, which is being built in Bila Tserkva (Kyiv region).
“Biopharma has started commissioning work at the new plant,” Kostiantyn Yefymenko, the head of the board of directors of the Biopharma group of companies, said on his Facebook page.
According to him, at present, the plant has already launched warehouses for raw materials and finished products, while systems for water supply, chilled water, water for injection, steam, diethylene glycol, compressed air, purified air, neutralization of waste water are being tested.
As reported, investment in the construction of a new plant fractionator of blood plasma amounted to about $50 million. The plant will have three lines for the production of albumin, immunoglobulin, and factor VIII. The processing capacity ranges from 250,000 to one million liters of plasma per year. Biopharma planned to put it into operation at the end of 2018.
Biopharma immunobiological pharmaceutical company is among the ten largest Ukrainian manufacturers of drugs. It produces more than 20 immunobiological preparations from donated blood plasma, preparations obtained by recombinant DNA technology and probiotics.
Alfa Smart Agro has installed an herbicide suspension emulsion line at the Bila Tserkva Preparative Forms Plant (Kyiv region). According to a report of the company, the production capacity of the line is around 20 tonnes of finished products a day. The line is installed in a separate workshop where only herbicides are produced. Thus, the possibility of cross-contamination during the production of herbicides and other types of crop protection agents is completely excluded.
In the press release the company said that the preparative forms that will be manufactured at the new line have formulations developed by Alfa Smart Agro scientists. The first product to be produced at the new line will be the two-component soil herbicide under the Oscar Premium trademark.
Alfa Smart Agro is a manufacturer of crop protection agents and micronutrients. The company has a plant for the production of micronutrients and crop protection agents in Bila Tserkva (Kyiv region) with an annual capacity of about 12,000 tonnes of products.
The reform support team at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has reported on the results of a preliminary feasibility study for a project to restore the runway and build a terminal at Bila Tserkva airport with an estimated investment of EUR59 million. “Getting the status of international by Bila Tserkva has already been initiated, which is expected next year. The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine provides comprehensive support and assistance in realizing the potential of the Bila Tserkva aerodrome, which is provided for by the Aviation Strategy of Ukraine until 2030,” adviser to the relevant minister Oleksandr Klitin said.
The report also states that the reform support team has already held talks on the development of the airport based on the results of the feasibility study with Finpoint, Millennium Capital, Capital Times and the airport management.
The feasibility study for the airport of Bila Tserkva was developed by independent international consultants under the technical assistance program of the European Commission for Ukraine. According to the evaluation of experts from the ASSIST project, the total cost of priority investments to restore the runway and build the terminal will be about EUR59 million. The modernization of Bila Tserkva aviation complex is a pilot project of this program. ASSIST is a research project co-funded by the European Commission DG MOVE under FP7 (the EU’s Seventh Framework Program for Research). The ASSIST project has been lasting for more than 30 months, starting in April 2011. Scientific research is carried out by a consortium of six partners with the participation of NEA (the Netherlands), TRT (Italy), ProgTrans (Switzerland), FOMTERV (Hungary), CNRS-LET (France), and Fraunhofer-ISI (Germany).
Ukraine’s Economic Development and Trade Ministry has included the Bila Tserkva 2 industrial park (Kyiv region) in the register of industrial parks. According to the report posted on the ministry’s website, the park, 34th in the list, was registered under a ministry order of October 4, 2018.
The initiator of the creation of the industrial park on a land plot of 34.7138 hectares in the territory of the Shkarivka Village Council in Bila Tserkva district is Bila Tserkva 2 Industrial Park LLC.
According to the state register, the founder of the said limited liability company registered in June 2015 with a charter capital of UAH 1,000 is UDP Industrial Parks Limited (Cyprus), the ultimate beneficiary of which is businessman Vasyl Khmelnytsky.
In April 2018, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry registered the Bila Tserkva industrial park created on the initiative of Bila Tserkva Industrial Park LLC, which is owned by Khmelnytsky.
The declared period of operation of the Bila Tserkva 2 industrial park is 50 years.
The priority types of economic activity in the industrial park will be the production of food and non-alcoholic beverages; light industry (textiles, clothing), paper and paper products; and storage facilities.
According to tentative calculations, up to 1,100 jobs can be created on the territory of the industrial park.
According to the information on the website of the Bila Tserkva industrial park, which is part of the UFuture investment group, the project has been developing since 2016. The company plans to attract $100 million in investment and create 3,000 jobs.
The Plank Electrotechnic plant, the manufacturer of modern electrical systems, was created at the industrial park.
UFuture Investment Group, headquartered in Brussels, was established in autumn 2017.

The Plank Electrotechnic plant, the manufacturer of the modern electrical systems, part of the conglomerate UFuture Investment Group belonged to businessman Vasyl Khmelnytsky, will start operating on the territory of the Bila Tserkva industrial park this autumn. “This autumn we will get a plant that will produce products. They will be used not only in Ukraine, they will be exported to Europe, since we will build all the plants to meet the European standards,” Khmelnytsky said in an interview with the Crocus local television channel posted on the Facebook page of the businessman.
According to the website of UFuture, on the average, Plank Electrotechnic is to produce 4.6 million units of electrical fixtures and other electrotechnic products per year. Some 50 jobs would be created at the first stage, and later with the development of the cluster – up to 300 jobs. The electrical fixtures market in Ukraine is estimated by the company at UAH 500 million a year. Ukrainian electrical fixtures and other electrotechnic products will boast excellent European quality and competitive value.
According to the posting on the UFuture’s website, the launch of the plant will be the launch of the new cluster Plank, an innovative production cluster that allows efficient cooperation and development of enterprises from various industries that use high-tech polymers and composites in production.
The enterprises forming this cluster will become the first production facility located in the Bila Tserkva industrial park. They will produce electrical, construction and machine-building commodities made of advanced materials.
“Now Ukraine lacks domestically produced goods with the use of engineering polymers and composites, especially advanced ones,” the group said.
At the second stage, production will be launched at the cluster that will employ the method of extrusion of reinforced pipes for water supply and heating systems, installation boxes and skirtings of various sizes. Also, pultrusion technology will be used to produce composite fittings, profiles and mesh made of fiberglass.
All cluster plants will operate under a single quality control and design system, with one supplier of materials as well as raw materials.
Separately, it is planned to develop the logistics capacities of the cluster – a specialized warehouse for the storage of plastic and composite primary granules will be built.
The cluster is ready to cooperate with Ukrainian enterprises and international companies operating in the segment of production of plastic masses, polymers and composites. Cooperation can include both the lease of production capacities in the industrial park area and joint investment in the development of similar projects in Ukraine.
“Our closest plans are to start building three or four plants this year and in three or four years to build 20 plants,” Khmelnytsky said.
In April 2018, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry placed the Bila Tserkva industrial park in the register of industrial parks.
