UKRAINIAN TRANSPORT COMPANIES REDUCE CARGO TRANSPORTATION BY 11% IN 2020

Ukrainian transport companies, as well as part of the JFO zone) reduced the cargo transportation by 11.2% in 2020 compared to 2019, to 600 million tonnes, the State Statistics Service said.
According to it, in 2020, the cargo turnover of carriers decreased by 14.3%, to 290.3 billion tonne-kilometers.
According to statistics, in 2020, some 305.5 million tonnes of cargo were transported by rail in domestic traffic and for export, which is 2.4% less than in 2019. Some 191.3 million tonnes (less by 21.7%) were transported by road, 5.6 million tonnes (less by 8.3%) by water transport, 97.5 million tonnes (less by 13.5%) by pipelines, and 100,000 tonnes (less by 6.7%) by air.

UKRZALIZNYTSIA INCREASES CARGO TRANSPORTATION IN DEC

JSC Ukrzaliznytsia transported in December 2020, according to recent data, 26.65 million tonnes of cargo in all routes, which is 7.4% more than the same period in 2019.
According to the Ukrzaliznytsia’s press service on Wednesday, cargo turnover for the specified period increased by 4.4%, up to 14.404 billion tonne-kilometers.
Thus, the largest volume of cargo transportation in December 2020 was traditionally in domestic traffic and amounted to 12.08 million tonnes, which is 15.4% more than in December 2019. Domestic cargo turnover increased by 11.6%, to 4.668 billion tonne-kilometers.
Export in December 2020 amounted to 9.8 million tonnes, import to 3.78 million tonnes, and transit to 1 million tonnes.
As reported, Ukrzaliznytsia increased the volume of domestic cargo transportation by 22% in November.

TRANSPORT ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE REDUCE CARGO TRANSPORTATION

The transport companies of Ukraine (excluding the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the JFO zone) in January-November 2020 reduced transportation of goods by 11.6% compared to the same period in 2019, to 546.6 million tonnes, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to the report, the freight turnover of carriers for the specified period decreased by 15.1%, to 263.9 billion tonne-kilometers.
According to statistics, over the 11 months of this year, 278.8 million tonnes of goods were transported by rail in domestic traffic and for export, which is 3.2% less than in January-November 2019. Some 174.6 million tonnes (less by 21.6%) were transported by road, 5.2 million tonnes (8.4% less) by water, 87.9 million tonnes (13.5% less) by pipeline, and 100,000 tonnes (6.5% less) by air.
