Ukraine in January 2019 exported 455 tonnes of cheese, which was 23.5% up on January 2018. According to customs statistics released by Ukraine’s State Fiscal Service (SFS), cheese exports in monetary terms amounted to $1.5 million, which was 20% higher than the figure for the first month of 2018.
At the same time, imports of cheese in January 2019 totaled 1,180 tonnes, which was 35.7% more than in January last year. The imports in monetary terms increased by 30%, to $5.6 million.
Exports of Ukrainian creamery butter in January 2019 decreased by 28.5%, to 1,750 tonnes. The exports in monetary terms decreased by 37%, to $7.1 million. Imports of creamery butter, according to the SFS, decreased by 21%, to 90 tonnes ($585,000).
In January 2019, exports of condensed milk and cream decreased by 9%, to 2,150 tonnes. Ukraine supplied condensed milk and cream to the tune of $3.67 million, which was 3% less than in January 2018. Their imports decreased by 21%, to 167 tonnes ($325,000).
As was reported, Ukraine in 2018 imported 13,720 tonnes of cheese (37.1% up from 2017) and exported 8,340 tonnes of cheese (7.8% down from 2017).
Last year, exports of butter remained at the level of 2017, imports increased slightly, to 1,100 tonnes.
Exports of condensed milk and cream totaled 35,550 tonnes (24.1% down from 2017), imports were 2,360 tonnes (38.6% up from 2017).
Ukraine imported 13,720 tonnes of cheese and exported 8,340 tonnes in 2018.
According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service, cheese imports in kind grew by 37.1%, to 13,720 tonnes and in monetary terms increased by 41.8%, to $66.81 million.
Cheese exports in kind in 2018 decreased by 7.8% compared with 2017. Cheese exports in monetary terms fell by 5.3%, to $30.8 million.
Ukraine exported most of cheeses to Kazakhstan – 42.8%, Moldova – 28% and Egypt – 11.3%. The country imported these products mainly from Poland – 31%, Germany – 23.7% and France – 15.6%.
In addition, the fiscal service reported that the export of butter from Ukraine over the past year remained at the level of 2017 and amounted to 30,380 tonnes, in monetary terms – $128.6 million.
Ukraine supplied 21.1% of the produced butter in Morocco, 11% – the Netherlands, and 10.6% – Turkey.
In 2018, imports of butter to Ukraine amounted to 1,100 tonnes for $7.47 million, while in 2017 – 750 tonnes for $4.47 million.
Exports of condensed milk and cream last year fell by 24.1%, to 35,550 tonnes. Ukraine supplied condensed milk and cream for $59.19 million, which is 26.5% less than in 2017.
Imports of this group of goods in 2018 increased by 38.6%, to 2,360 tonnes ($5.71 million).
As reported with reference to customs statistics, Ukraine in 2017 exported 9,050 tonnes of cheese, which is 12% more than in 2016. Imports of cheese into the country rose by 42%, to 10,000 tonnes.
Ukraine in January-September 2018 exported 6,050 tonnes of cheese, which is 7.8% less than in the same period of 2017. According to customs statistics, promulgated by the State Fiscal Service, in monetary terms exports amounted to $22.5 million, which is 2.3% less than in the nine months of 2017. At the same time, imports of cheese in January-September 2018 amounted to 9,200 tonnes, which is 35.6% more than in the same period of 2017. In monetary terms imports increased by 44.6%, to $44.9 million.
In January-September this year, exports of butter from Ukraine increased by 9%, to 23,250 tonnes. In monetary terms this figure increased by 16.3% and amounted to $100.1 million. According to the State Fiscal Service, butter imports rose by 2.1 times, to 780 tonnes ($5.4 million).
In January-September exports of milk and cream (condensed) decreased by 21.5%, to 29,200 tonnes. Ukraine supplied condensed milk and cream for a total of $48 million against $63.8 million in January-September 2017. Imports of this group of goods increased by 1.6 times, to 1,630 tonnes ($3.96 million).
Ukraine exported 5,390 tonnes of cheese in January-August 2018, which is 4.1% less than in the same period in 2017. According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service, in monetary terms exports amounted to $20.04 million, and this is 2.6% more than a year ago.
At the same time, cheese imports in January-August 2018 amounted to 7,810 tonnes, which is 30% more than in the same period in 2017. In terms of money, this indicator increased by 41.2%, to $38.31 million.
Exports of butter from Ukraine in January-August this year rose by 19.2%, to 21,410 tonnes. In monetary terms, this figure grew by 32.2% and amounted to $92.43 million. According to the State Fiscal Service, imports of this product increased 2.4 times, to 710 tonnes ($4.84 million).
Exports of milk and cream (condensed) in January-August decreased 19.8%, to 26,640 tonnes. Ukraine supplied condensed milk and cream for a total of $43.77 million against $57.07 million in January-August 2017. Imports of this group of goods increased by 1.7 times, to 1,430 tonnes ($3.51 million).
Ukraine exported 4,560 tonnes of cheese in January-July 2018, which is 6.1% less than in the same period in 2017. According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service, in monetary terms exports amounted to $17 million – at the level of the seven months in 2017. At the same time, cheese imports in January-July 2018 amounted to 6,640 tonnes, which is 29.8% more than in the same period in 2017. In terms of money, this indicator increased by 43.6%, to $32.68 million.
Exports of butter from Ukraine in January-July this year rose by 32.2%, to 19,230 tonnes. In monetary terms, this figure grew by 1.5 times and amounted to $82.84 million. According to the State Fiscal Service, imports of this product increased by 2.7 times, to 637 tonnes ($4.26 million).
Exports of milk and cream (condensed) in January-July decreased by 20.8%, to 22,360 tonnes. Ukraine supplied condensed milk and cream for a total of $36.83 million against $48.78 million in January-July 2017. Imports of this group of goods increased by 1.7 times, to 1,230 tonnes ($3 million).
Ukraine exported 3,870 tonnes of cheese in January-June 2018, which was 6.1% less than in the same period in 2017.
According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service (GFS), cheese exports in monetary terms increased by 1.1%, to $14.51 million.
Cheese imports in January-June 2018 totaled 5,460 tonnes, which is 26.3% higher than the same period in 2017. Cheese imports in monetary terms increased by 42.1%, to $ 27.17 million.
Exports of creamery butter from Ukraine in January-June 2018 increased by 40.3%, to 17,210 tonnes. This indicator in monetary terms increased by1.7 times, to $73.99 million. Butter imports grew by 2.2 times, to 516 tonnes ($ 3.4 million).
Exports of condensed milk and cream in January-June 2018 decreased by 25.4%, to 17,400 tonnes. Ukraine shipped condensed milk and cream worth $28.93 million abroad, this is compared to $40.41 million in January-June 2017. Imports of this group of products increased by 1.6 times to 1,000 tonnes ($2.47 million).
