VOLUME OF CONSTRUCTION WORK IN UKRAINE 4.4% UP IN 2018

The volume of construction work performed in Ukraine in 2018 increased by 4.4% compared with 2017, while growth in 2017 compared with 2016 was 26.3%, according to reviewed statistics. According to the agency, the volume of construction work performed in December 2018 decreased by 8.8% compared with December 2017, while compared with November it grew by 36.7% (according to seasonally adjusted data it declined by 3.2%).
According to the report, in 2018 compared with 2017 the volume of construction work decreased only in residential construction – by 1.6% (a rise of 16.3% in 2017 on 2016).
Nonresidential construction in 2018 rose by 1.2% (26.1% in 2017) and in engineering – by 9% (31.7% in 2017).
In 2018 compared with 2017, an increase in the volume of construction work was recorded in 14 regions of Ukraine, while in Kyiv there was a drop of 3.5%, to UAH 30.1 billion.
According to the State Statistics Service, the largest increase in this indicator was seen in Vinnytsia (by 42.6%, to UAH 5.5 billion), Donetsk (by 32.6%, to UAH 5.3 billion) and Cherkasy (by 18.2%, to UAH 1.9 billion) regions.
The decline in construction work in 2018 by 2017 was recorded in Kirovohrad (by 16.7%, to UAH 1.6 billion), Luhansk (by 16.3%, to UAH 0.6 billion) and Mykolaiv (by 14.3%, to UAH 2.8 billion) regions.

According to the State Statistics Service, the data are given excluding the occupied territory of Crimea and the temporarily uncontrolled territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
According to the agency, the volume of construction work performed in December 2018 decreased by 8.8% compared with December 2017, while compared with November it grew by 36.7% (according to seasonally adjusted data it declined by 3.2%).
According to the report, in 2018 compared with 2017 the volume of construction work decreased only in residential construction – by 1.6% (a rise of 16.3% in 2017 on 2016).

VOLUME OF CONSTRUCTION WORK IN UKRAINE 1% UP

The volume of construction work carried out in Ukraine in November 2018 increased by 1% year-over-year, while this indicator in October 2018 compared to October 2017 increased by 4.8%. The report does not include data from the occupied territory of Crimea and the temporarily uncontrolled territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said.
The volume of construction works in November 2018 compared to October 2018 grew by 0.4% (according to seasonally adjusted data, it decreased by 3.9%), whereas this indicator in October 2018 from September 2018 decreased by 5.2%.
In November 2018 compared to November 2017, the volume of work decreased in residential construction, and increased in non-residential and engineering. According to unadjusted data, the decline in residential construction was 9.3%. Non-residential construction saw a 1.2% increase. Construction of engineering structures grew by 4.8%.
In addition, according to the statistics service, the volume of construction works in the construction of residential buildings in November 2018 decreased by 11% compared to October 2018, non-residential buildings increased by 3.3%, engineering structures increased by 3.3%.
The fall in the volume of construction work in January-November 2018 compared with January-November 2017 was recorded in the city of Kyiv and 10 regions of Ukraine, in particular in Mykolaiv region (by 15.6%, to UAH 2.21 billion), Kirovohrad region (by 14.8%, to UAH 1.3 billion), Sumy region (by 12%, to UAH 1.09 billion) and Ternopil region (by 11.1%, to UAH 1.46 billion) regions.

The volume of construction work performed in Ukraine in October 2018 decreased by 4.8% compared with October 2017, while in September 2018 from September 2017 this figure decreased by 0.2%. According to the State Statistics Service, the data are given excluding the occupied territory of Crimea and the temporarily uncontrolled territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
According to the agency, the volume of construction work performed in October 2018 decreased by 5.2% compared with September 2018 (according to the seasonally adjusted data declined by 2.5%), whereas in September 2018 this figure grew by 4% compared to August 2018.
According to the report, in October 2018 from October 2017 the volume of construction work increased in residential, nonresidential construction and in engineering. According to unadjusted data, the growth in residential construction was 0.3%, in nonresidential some 2.5% and in construction of engineering structures by 9.6%.
In addition, in October the volume of construction of residential buildings increased by 0.5% compared to September, nonresidential buildings by 7%, and engineering structures by 5.4%.
In January-October 2018 compared with January-October 2017 the fall in the volume of construction work was recorded in Kyiv City and nine regions of Ukraine, in particular in Luhansk (by 28.1%, to UAH 387.9 million), Zakarpattia (by 17.2%, to UAH 985.7 million), Mykolaiv (by 14.9%, to UAH 1.96 billion) and Sumy (14.9%, to UAH 929.7 million) regions.

VOLUME OF CONSTRUCTION WORK IN UKRAINE FALLS SLIGHTLY BY 2.2% IN FEBRUARY

The volume of construction work in Ukraine in February 2018 decreased by 2.2% compared to February 2017, while the decrease in January 2018 from January 2017 was 1%. According to the State Statistics Service, the data are given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol and certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. According to the authority, the volume of construction work in February 2018 grew by 2.8% compared with the previous month, while in January 2018 it plunged by 74% compared with December 2017.
According to the report, in February 2018 the growth in the volume of construction was observed nonresidential construction (2.4%), while the figure in construction of residential buildings fell by 0.3%. The decrease of 6.8% was recorded in construction of engineering facilities.
In February 2018, the volume of construction of residential buildings fell by 1.6% compared with January 2018, and it grew by 1.6% in construction of nonresidential buildings and by 7.3% in construction of engineering facilities.
In January-February 2018, construction work fell in 10 regions, in particular in Luhansk region by 83%, to UAH 33.3 million, Odesa region by 39%, to UAH 584.6 million and Sumy region by 19.5%, to UAH 85 million. The largest growth in the volume of construction works in January and February 2018 was seen in Zakarpattia region by 93.8%, to UAH 124.7 млн million and Chernivtsi region by 71.9%, to UAH 168 million.
