NUMBER OF CYBER INCIDENTS IN UKRAINE DOWN BY 28%

The system of cyber protection of state information resources of Ukraine and critical infrastructure facilities at monitoring sites recorded 376,100 suspicious events from August 18 to 24 August 2021, which is 28% less than in the previous week.
According to the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection on Thursday, the overwhelming majority of recorded suspicious events concern violations of corporate security policy (32%), detection of network malware (22%), and attempts to obtain administrator rights (20%).
The system of state bodies’ protected access to the Internet blocked 43,100 different types of attacks, which is 18% less than in the previous week. Of these, 99% are application-level network attacks; two DDoS attacks were also recorded and blocked.
During this period, the Government Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine (CERT-UA) registered and processed 2,150 cyber incidents.
The vast majority of processed incidents belong to the UACOM domain zone (about 99%). The majority of incidents are related to the distribution of malware (96% of the total) and phishing (3%).

NUMBER OF CYBER INCIDENTS IN UKRAINE DECREASE BY 42%

The system of cyber protection of state information resources of Ukraine and critical infrastructure facilities at monitoring facilities in the period from 4 to 10 August 2021 recorded 746, 600 suspicious events, which is 42% less than the previous week.
According to the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine on Thursday, the vast majority of recorded suspicious events concern attempts to obtain user rights (36%), obtain administrator rights (19%), violations of corporate security policy (21%).
The system of secure access of state bodies to the Internet blocked 56,600 different types of attacks, which is 13% less than in the previous week. Of these, 97% are application-level network attacks, and one DDoS attack has also been recorded and blocked.
The government team for responding to computer emergencies in Ukraine CERT-UA during this period registered and processed 1,860 cyber incidents.
The vast majority of incidents handled belong to the UACOM domain zone (about 99%). The main number of incidents concerns the spread of malware (44% of the total) and fishing (55%).

According to the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection, the overwhelming majority of recorded suspicious events concern attempts to obtain user rights (43%), obtain administrator rights (17%), and violations of corporate security policy (20%).
The system of state bodies’ protected access to the Internet blocked 72,155 different types of attacks, which is 3% less than in the previous week. Of these, 98% are application-level network attacks, and 11 DDoS attacks were also recorded and blocked.
During this period, the Government Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine (CERT-UA) registered and processed 1,680 cyber incidents, which is 19% more than in the previous week.
The vast majority of processed incidents belong to the UACOM domain zone (about 99%). The majority of incidents are related to the distribution of malware (46% of the total) and phishing (53%).
