Ukrainian enterprises reduced exports of scrap ferrous metals by 13.3 times

Ukrainian enterprises in January-October this year, reduced the export of scrap ferrous metals in 13.3 times compared to the same period last year – up to 37.774 thousand tons.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service (SCS), in monetary terms, the export of scrap metal during this period decreased by 13.4 times – to $14.589 million.
At the same time, the country has reduced the import of scrap metal in volume terms by 11.7 times to 1.691 thousand tons for ten months. In monetary terms, the import of scrap decreased by 10.8 times – to $ 3.453 million.
In addition, steel companies in Ukraine in January-October 2022, did not import products of direct reduction of iron ore to code 7203 – hot briquetted iron, which is a substitute for pig iron and scrap, but exported 258 tons of these products to India (100%) amounting to $ 48 thousand.
As reported, Ukraine in 2021 increased exports of scrap metal in 17.2 times compared to the previous year – up to 615.687 tons. In monetary terms, exports of scrap metal increased by 25.2 times to $238.895 million.
In 2021, the country reduced imports of scrap metal by 13.1% in volume terms, to 22.964 thousand tons. In monetary terms, scrap imports increased by 72.4% to $44.883 million.
Imports of scrap metal in 2021 was carried out mainly from Turkey (60.42% of supplies in monetary terms), Russia (33.44%) and Belarus (1.57%); exports – to Turkey (84.85%), Romania (6.66%) and Poland (3.45%).
In addition, steel companies in Ukraine in 2021 imported from Russia 1.603 tons of products of direct reduction of iron ore to code 7203 – hot briquetted iron (HBI), which is a substitute for pig iron and scrap, worth $ 653 thousand, while in 2020 – 2.648 tons to $ 805 thousand. In this case, the export of products to India was 288 tons to $91 thousand.

Ukraine reduced foreign exchange earnings from the export of ferrous metals by 58%

Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in January-August this year reduced revenues from the export of ferrous metals by 58% compared to the same period last year – to $3 billion 724.478 million from $8 billion 917.510 million.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service (SCS), ferrous metals accounted for 12.86% of total merchandise export earnings over this period compared to 21.34% in January-August 2021.
In August, proceeds from the export of ferrous metals amounted to $234.658 million.
At the same time, in January-August of this year, Ukraine reduced imports of similar products by 37.8%, to $558.954 million. In August, it was imported for $85.439 million.
In addition, during the specified period, Ukraine reduced the export of metal products by 8.9% – to $703.130 million. In August, they were delivered for $70.961 million.
Imports of metal products in January-August decreased by 40.3% – to $413.181 million (in August – $61.941 million).
As reported, Ukraine in 2021 increased foreign exchange earnings from exports of ferrous metals by 81.4% compared to 2020, to $13 billion 951.117 million. Ferrous metals accounted for 20.49% of total revenues from exports of goods over this period against 15 .63% for 2020.
At the same time, Ukraine increased imports of similar products by 48.8% in 2021, to $1 billion 547.477 million.
In addition, Ukraine in 2021 increased the export of metal products by 43% – up to $1 billion 293.199 million.
Imports of metal products over the past year increased by 28% – up to $1 billion 125.908 million.

UKRAINIAN PIPE PRODUCTION GOES UP BY 15% IN 2021

The main pipe enterprises of Ukraine in 2021 increased the production of pipes made of ferrous metals, according to operational data, by 15.1% compared to the previous year, to 980,700 tonnes, including 78,800 tonnes produced in December tonnes.
As a source in the government told Interfax-Ukraine, in particular, enterprises of the Ukrtruboprom association last year increased pipe production by 32.6%, to 710,500 tonnes, including 65,800 tonnes produced in December.
At the same time, the source said that after the pipe-rolling production of Interpipe Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Rolling Plant formally became part of Interpipe Niko Tube from April 2021, the statistics of pipe production at these enterprises changed. In accordance with the updated statistics, there was no production of pipes at Interpipe Interpipe Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Rolling Plant in June-December 2021, while at Interpipe Niko Tube it amounted to 57,000 tonnes last month, and in 2021 it doubled to 592,500 tonnes.
The production of pipes at Interpipe Interpipe Novomoskovsk Pipe Plant over the past year decreased by 24.3%, to 59,400 tonnes (in December it was 6,700 tonnes).
The Dnipropetrovsk Pipe Plant was idle last year, while in 2020 it produced 300 tonnes. Centravis reduced production by 2.2%, to 18,000 tonnes of stainless steel pipes (1,900 tonnes in December).
The Trubostal plant increased its output by 17.6% – up to 2 thousand tonnes of pipes (0.2 thousand tonnes).
Mariupol Illich Iron and Steel Works, which is not part of the Ukrtruboprom association, reduced the production of pipes by 28.7%, to 108,600 tonnes (in December it was 100 tonnes), Kominmet cut output by 1.3%, up to 161,600 tonnes (12,900 tonnes in December).

METALLURGICAL ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE IN 2021 INCREASE EARNINGS FROM EXPORT OF FERROUS METALS BY 81.4%

Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in 2021 increased revenues from the export of ferrous metals by 81.4% compared to 2020, to $13.951 billion.
According to the updated statistics released by the State Customs Service on Friday, ferrous metals accounted for 20.49% of total merchandise export earnings over this period, compared to 15.63% in 2020.
In December, proceeds from the export of ferrous metals amounted to $1.34 billion.
At the same time, Ukraine increased imports of ferrous metals by 48.8% in 2021, to $1.547 billion. In December, this figure was $140.660 million.
In addition, in 2021, Ukraine increased the export of metal products by 43%, to $1.293 billion. In December, metal products for $128.729 million were delivered.
Imports of metal products over the past year grew by 28%, to $1.126 billion. In December, metal products for $116.609 million were imported.
As reported, Ukrainian steel enterprises in 2020 reduced revenues from the export of ferrous metals by 12% compared to the previous year, to $7.69 billion. At the same time, Ukraine in 2020 reduced imports of ferrous metals by 17%, to $1.04 billion.
In addition, Ukraine in 2020 reduced the export of metal products by 13.2%, to $904.533 million. Over the year, imports of metal products fell by 20%, to $879.687 million.

UKRAINE INCREASES EARNING FROM EXPORT OF FERROUS METALS BY 30% IN Q1

Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in January-March 2021 increased receipts from exports of ferrous metals by 29.7% compared to the same period last year, to $2.670 billion.
According to updated statistics released by the State Customs Service on Friday, ferrous metals accounted for 19.44% of total receipts from the export of goods during this period versus 16.79% in the first three months of 2020.
In March, revenues from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $1.160 billion.
At the same time, Ukraine in January-March 2021 reduced imports of similar products by 3.9%, to $214.215 million. In March, this figure was $92.685 million.
In addition, Ukraine in January-March 2021 increased the export of metal products by 10.4%, to $236.069 million. In March, metal products for $ 95.530 million were delivered.
During this period, the import of metal products increased by 6.5%, to $209.229 million. In March, metal products for $83.853 million were imported.

UKRAINIAN METAL COMPANIES IN JAN-MARCH INCREASE EARNINGS FROM EXPORTS OF FERROUS METALS BY 30%

Ukrainian metal companies in January-March 2021 increased earnings from exports of ferrous metals by 30% compared to the same period last year, to $2.67 billion.
According to updated statistics released by the State Customs Service, in March, earnings from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $1.16 billion.
At the same time, Ukraine reduced imports of similar products by 4.5% in January-March 2021, to $214.2 million. In March, this figure was $92.68 million.
In addition, Ukraine increased exports of metal products by 10.7% in the first three months of 2021, to $229.46 million. In March, their export amounted to $90.79 million.
During this period, imports of metal products increased by 7.7%, to $207.94 million. In March, they were imported for $82.66 million.
As reported, in 2020, Ukrainian metal companies reduced earnings from exports of ferrous metals by 12% compared to the previous year, to $7.690 billion. At the same time, Ukraine in 2020 reduced imports of similar products by 17%, to $1.040 billion.
