GRAIN HARVEST IN UKRAINE COULD REACH 70.8 MLN TONNES

The Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine predicts that this year grain harvest in the country could reach 70.8 million tonnes compared with 70.1 million tonnes in 2018 under favorable conditions.
The ministry said that corn harvest could decrease by 7.5%, to 33.1 million tonnes, wheat harvest could increase 9.3%, to 26.9 million tonnes and barley – by 12.3%, to 8.2 million tonnes.
As reported, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in its May report predicted grain harvest in Ukraine in 2019 at 72.1 million tonnes.
According to the USDA, wheat production in Ukraine this year may reach 29 million tonnes, corn – 33 million tonnes, barley – 9 million tonnes.

UKRAINE EXPORTS 45.4 MLN TONNES OF GRAIN SINCE START OF 2018/2019 MY

Ukraine since the beginning of the 2018/2019 marketing year (MY, July-June) and as of May 22, 2019 had exported 45.4 million tonnes of grain and leguminous plants, which is 26% more than on the same date of the previous MY.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, farmers exported 26.4 million tonnes of corn, 14.8 million tonnes of wheat, and 3.5 million tonnes of barley.
On the specified date, some 262,000 tonnes of flour had been also exported.
As reported, with reference to the ministry, Ukraine exported 39.4 million tonnes of grain in the 2017/2018 MY.
According to the ministry, grain exports in the 2018/2019 MY are projected to be 49 million tonnes.

UKRAINE EXPORTS 44.4 MLN TONNES OF GRAIN SINCE START OF AGRI-YEAR

Ukraine since the beginning of the 2018/2019 agricultural year (July-June) and as of May 15, 2019 had exported 44.36 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, which is 25.6% more than on the same date of the previous agri-year.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, farmers exported 25.6 million tonnes of corn, 14.6 million tonnes of wheat, and 3.4 million tonnes of barley.
Some 255,800 tonnes of flour had been also exported on the specified date.
As reported, with reference to the ministry, Ukraine exported 39.4 million tonnes of grain in the 2017/2018 agri-year.
According to the ministry, grain exports in the 2018/2019 agri-year are projected to be 49 million tonnes.

FAO PREDICTS GRAIN HARVEST IN UKRAINE AT 65.3 MLN TONNES

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) predicts that grain harvest in Ukraine in 2019 will be 65.3 million tonnes, which is 5.6% lower than in 2018.
According to the May report, FAO forecasts an increase in wheat production in Ukraine in 2019 by 7.7%, to 26.5 million tonnes and a decrease in corn production by 19%, to 29 million tonnes.
Wheat exports in 2019/20 agricultural year (July-June) will decrease compared to the previous agri-year 0.3%, to 17 million tonnes, corn by 1.2%, to 21 million tonnes, and barley by 0.3%, 4.2 million tonnes.
According to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, Ukraine since the beginning of the 2018/2019 agri-year as of May 13, 2019 exported 43.77 million tonnes of grain and leguminous plants, which is 24.5% more than on the same date of the previous agri-year.
Grain exports in 2018/2019 agri-year, according to the estimates of the ministry, are projected to be 49 million tonnes.

UKRAINE EXPORTS 40.2 MLN TONNES OF GRAIN SINCE START OF 2018/2019 AGRI-YEAR

Ukraine since the beginning of the 2018/2019 agricultural year (July-June) and as of April 17, 2019 had exported 40.217 million tonnes of grain and leguminous plants, which is 24.5% more than on the same date of the previous agri-year.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, farmers exported 22.2 million tonnes of corn, 13.96 million tonnes of wheat, and 3.36 million tonnes of barley.
On the specified date, some 224,500 tonnes of flour had been also exported.
As reported, with reference to the ministry, Ukraine exported 39.4 million tonnes of grain in the 2017/2018 agri-year.
According to the ministry, grain exports in the 2018/2019 agri-year are projected at 49 million tonnes.

STATE FOOD-GRAIN CORPORATION BOOSTS GRAIN EXPORT BY 12%

PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine saw a 12% rise in grain export, to 1.5 million tonnes, over nine months of the 2018/2019 marketing year (MY, July-June), according to the company’s press service.
The report reads that the main crop for export was corn – 1.2 million tonnes (60% more than during the same period in the 2017/2018 MY). The key buyers were France, Portugal, the Netherlands, Italy, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Bangladesh, and China. Supplies to the third countries were carried out through China National Complete Engineering Corporation (CCEC).
The company’s press service recalled that quotas on import of corn from Ukraine to China were increased for the CCEC in 2019. The State Food and Grain Corporation confirmed its readiness to provide necessary amount of products.
The government in August 2010 decided to create the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine. The corporation has a chain of branches, comprised of grain storage facilities, flourmills, fodder factories and a cereals factory. The 53 subdivisions of the corporation can store a total of 3.75 million tonnes of grain, which includes the grain handling capacities of Odesa and Mykolaiv ports of some 2.5 million tonnes of grain cargo per year.
The State Food and Grain Corporation saw UAH 1.5 billion in net loss in 2018 compared with UAH 1.4 billion net loss in 2017.
