KHERSON AIRPORT WILL RAISE PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN 2019

The head of Kherson Regional State Administration, Yuriy Husev, expects that Kherson International Airport will increase passenger traffic in 2019, in addition, work is underway to modernize its terminal.
“Kherson International Airport transported 150,000 passengers last year. We plan to increase passenger flow this year. On July 30 we resumed negotiations with Ryanair, which confirmed its willingness to fly from Kherson airport. Today, the airport operates regular flights to Istanbul, Kyiv. Scheduled flights to Egypt will be launched soon,” he said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
Husev noted that there is a fruitful cooperation with the EBRD and the IFS developer of software for integrated corporate management, which help build a concept for the development of the airport.
“There is an understanding of what we need to do first. Kherson airport, the air gates of the south of Ukraine, should be developed,” he said.
The head of Kherson Regional State Administration also said that work is underway to modernize the airport terminal.
“There are certain ideas. We are working with the representatives of the regional council so that the necessary funds are provided for in the budget. We are also discussing the idea of a possible concession with the EBRD,” he said.

UKRAINIAN SEA PORTS AUTHORITY TO START TENDERS TO TRANSFER OLVIA STEVEDORE, KHERSON SEAPORT TO CONCESSION

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority plans to announce tenders to transfer Olvia stevedoring company and Kherson maritime merchandise port in concession in May 2019, Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority Head Raivis Veckagans said at a briefing at the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine on Thursday.
“An important process in 2019 will be our concession projects. We plan to set up a tender commission for project evaluation in February. In March, we plan that the tender documents and criteria for evaluating potential bidders will be approved, and in May we plan to announce the tender,” he said.
Veckagans expects that by autumn, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority will sign the first concession agreements with public stevedoring companies.
“Also this year we plan to complete work on the feasibility studies for the following concession projects: the railway ferry complex at Chornomorsk and the public stevedoring company at the Yuzhny seaport.
As reported, the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine was expecting to conduct tender procedures for the transfer of Olvia stevedoring company and Kherson maritime merchandise port in concession in March-April and sign contracts with the winners of the tenders in May-June 2019.

20 INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES INTERESTED IN CONCESSION OF KHERSON MARITIME MERCHANT PORT AND OLVIA STEVEDORING COMPANY

Some 20 large international companies are interested in the concession of Kherson Maritime Merchant Port and Olvia Stevedoring Company, Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan has said. “We expect that the tender on Kherson and Olvia seaports will start this year. We have more than 20 applications from powerful companies,” the minister said at a press conference in Kyiv. According to him, large international companies expressed their interest.
As reported, with reference to the Infrastructure Ministry, previously Qatar expressed interest in the concession of Olvia and Kherson seaports.

HUNGARY’S LOW COST WIZZAIR INTERESTED TO FLY TO KHERSON

Hungary’s low cost airline WizzAir is interested in flying to the Kherson airport, Wizz Air Executive Vice President and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Stephen Jones said at a press conference. “We had a very interesting and productive meeting with representatives of the Kherson airport. We are working on this issue. I am considering the possibility, but if I’m not mistaken, it is very important to have a runway in Kherson to service our planes. This is an excellent region,” Jones said.
He also said that he was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the airport team and expressed hope for future cooperation, but refused to specify the possible dates for the beginning of this cooperation.
WizzAir is the largest low cost airline in the Central and Eastern Europe. It offers flights from 142 airports in 44 countries. Its fleet consists of 100 Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 planes.

AIR COMPANY BRAVO STARTS FLIGHTS TO LUBLIN FROM KYIV, KHARKIV, KHERSON

Bravo Airways will launch regular flights to Lublin from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kherson from June 15, 2018. “We open new flights to Lublin from June 15, which will allow in 1.5 hours safely, comfortably and without changing to get from the airports of Kyiv, Kherson and Kharkiv to Lublin and back,” the airline said on Facebook.
The cost of flights starts from UAH 1,300. The fare also includes transportation of hand luggage and the ability to carry up to 23 kg of luggage free of charge. Regular flights will be available to both directions three times a week from Kyiv and Kherson and twice from Kharkiv.
As reported, earlier Bravo Airways launched charter flights from Kherson to Dalaman (Turkey). Bravo Airways was founded in April 2012. Its core business is passenger transportation on regular and charter routes. Since its founding, Bravo Airways has transported more than 500,000 passengers. The aircraft of the airline are based at Kyiv Zhuliany International Airport.
