EMBASSY OF REPUBLIC OF KOREA WILL RESUME WORK IN KYIV ON MAY 5

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine will resume work in Kyiv on May 5, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea has reported.
“Our embassy is preparing to resume its activities on May 5 and plans to carry out diplomatic affairs and protect foreign citizens in Kyiv in close cooperation with the government of Ukraine,” the Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
As noted, Ambassador Kim Hyung Tae and some employees who have been working in a temporary office in Chernivtsi have already returned to Kyiv. The remaining staff in temporary offices in Chernivtsi and Romania are considering a plan for a phased return to Kyiv, while monitoring the local situation going forward.

KLITSCHKO: RIGA HANDED OVER 11 PASSENGER BUSES TO KYIV

11 modern passenger buses from Riga and humanitarian aid have arrived in Kyiv, Mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitaliy Klitschko said.
“Friends! Today, our Latvian partners, a delegation from the Riga Mayor’s Office, donated 11 modern passenger buses to Kyiv as assistance. And also humanitarian aid,” the mayor of Kyiv wrote on his telegram channel on Saturday.
Klitschko thanked Vice Mayor of Riga Edwards Smiltens for his visit to personally convey this assistance. “For us, this is evidence of Latvia’s solidarity with Ukraine, its capital, with the Ukrainian people in our struggle for our independence and freedom,” he said.
Each bus has a print of a symbolic hugging mural created in Riga by a Latvian artist.
The city authorities of Riga are considering the possibility of transferring more than 30 buses to Kyiv.

DEVELOPER NHOOD OFFERS TO RENT PREMISES IN KYIV PARK PETRIVKA

The international developer Nhood offers premises for rent in Retail Park Petrivka (Kyiv), Hanna Koriahina, the COO of Nhood Ukraine, told Interfax-Ukraine.
“There are options for retail, warehouse and office real estate. Premises ranging from 400 to 1,400 sq m are offered for rent. The possibility of splitting lots, depending on the purpose,” she said.
According to the expert, the total area of Retail Park Petrivka opened in April 2018 is 12,000 square meters. The second stage was to be 7,100 square meters, but its implementation is frozen.

UN SECRETARY GENERAL HAS ALREADY ARRIVED IN KYIV

UN Secretary General António Guterres has arrived in Ukraine on a visit.
“I arrived in Ukraine after visiting Moscow. We will continue our work to expand humanitarian assistance and ensure the evacuation of civilians from conflict zones. The sooner this war ends, the better for Ukraine, Russia and the world,” the Secretary General wrote on Twitter on Wednesday .

KYIV EXPECTS PROPOSALS FROM LOCAL AUTHORITIES TO REBUILD UKRAINE

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expects proposals from local authorities for the post-war reconstruction of the regions.
“There was a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. We discussed a range of issues, including the rebuilding of our state. We are already working out all the details so that the post-war reconstruction project can be implemented quickly and as effectively as possible. I emphasized that we expect specific requests and proposals from local authorities, so that we can talk substantively with our partners, with international donors,” he said in a video message Wednesday night.
According to the president, “the communities must give all the information about the destroyed housing. “We discussed how and in what sequence to build, how to organize the redemption of finished housing. Our goal is not only to restore what was destroyed by the occupiers, but also to solve the long-standing problems that exist with the housing queues,” the president said.

AUSTRIAN EMBASSY STAFF RETURNED TO KYIV

Employees of the Austrian embassy in Ukraine returned to Kyiv last week, the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

“We are united with the people of Ukraine, who have become victims of unprecedented military aggression by Russia. As an important sign of our unwavering solidarity with Ukraine, our embassy staff returned to Kyiv last week. Thank you to our staff for your efforts and dedication!” the Foreign Ministry tweeted on Wednesday.
