Ukrainian insurers reduced the number of MTPL contracts by 22% in 9 months

In January-September 2022, insurance companies – members of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) concluded 5.228 million contracts of compulsory civil liability insurance of motor vehicles owners (CMTPL), which is 22.9% less than during the same period of 2021.
According to data released on the website of MTSBU, 3.184 million of the total number of contracts were concluded electronically – 3.86% less than for the same period last year.
During nine months of 2022 the Bureau members reduced the amount of insurance payments on CMTPL policy by 5,8% compared to the same period of 2021 – up to UAH 4,962 billion, including UAH 3,346 billion (+17%) on electronic contracts.
The total of accrued insurance reimbursements under domestic insurance contracts in January-September reduced by 22,77% – up to UAH 2,015 bn. Including UAH 414,562 mln. was paid out using the “Europrotocol (-14,54%).
The Bureau has also reduced the number of settled claims for insurance compensation by 34.2% – to 82.795 thsd. – up to 32,583 thousand (-28,23%).
MLIBU is the only union of insurers providing compulsory insurance of civil liability of ground transport owners for damages, caused to third parties. There are 42 insurance companies that are members of the bureau.

IC “Universalnaya” insured vehicles of State Emergency Service in Zhytomyr region under OSAGO

The Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations in the Zhytomyr region and IC “Universalna” (Kyiv) signed an agreement for the purchase of services of compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of land vehicles (OSAGO) in the amount of 261 units.
According to the Prozorro electronic public procurement system, the expected cost of purchasing services was UAH 590,963 thousand, the company’s price offer was UAH 306,328 thousand.
The IC “Kraina” took part in the tender with a price offer of 305 thousand UAH and MK “Prince VIG” – 353.1 thousand UAH.
As reported, IC “Universalnaya” has an international composition of shareholders, in particular, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (owns 30% of shares) and Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (owns 70% of shares).

Experts presented list of leading insurers in OSAGO

The leaders in terms of premiums collected under compulsory motor third party liability insurance (OSAGO) contracts in the second quarter of 2022, as in the previous one, were IG TAS and NJSIC Oranta, according to the website of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTSBU).
At the same time, according to the published data, there have been a number of changes in the TOP-10 leading insurers of Ukraine for this type of insurance. The Ukrainian Fire and Insurance Company, which occupied the eighth position in the first quarter, left the TOP-10.
In addition, IC Euroins Ukraine returned to the top 10 sellers of OSAGO from the top ten in terms of collected premiums, IC Guardian rose from 10th position to seventh, USG – from seventh to fifth.
MTIBU is the only association of insurers that provides compulsory insurance of civil liability of land vehicle owners for damage caused to third parties. MTIBU members are 42 insurance companies.

MTIBU MEMBER INSURERS INCREASE NUMBER OF OSAGO CONTRACTS AND PAYMENTS IN JAN 2022

In January 2022, member insurance companies of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) concluded 590.5 thousand contracts of compulsory civil liability insurance of land vehicle owners (OSAGO), which is 1.04% more than in January 2021.
According to the data published on the MTIBU website, out of the total volume of contracts, 273.3 thousand were concluded in electronic form, which is 5.05% more than in the first month of 2021.
Members of the Bureau increased the collection of insurance payments under OSAGO policies by 16.68% compared to the same period last year – up to UAH 522.7 million, including for electronic contracts – in the amount of UAH 271.2 million, which is 23.16% more, than a year earlier
The total amount of accrued insurance claims under internal insurance contracts for January 2022 increased by 9.72% to UAH 287.2 million. Including UAH 57.4 million was paid using the Europrotocol, which is 19.3% more than a year earlier.
The Bureau also recorded an increase in the number of settled claims for insurance compensation by 4.93% – up to 13.461 thousand, including 5.221 thousand (+14.2%) using the “Europrotocol”.
MTIBU is the only association of insurers that provides compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of ground vehicles for damage caused to third parties. Bureau members are 49 insurance companies.

MTIBU MEMBER INSURERS RAISE OSAGO AGREEMENTS BY 16%

Insurance companies that are members of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) in January-April 2021 increased the collection of insurance payments under the policies of compulsory insurance of land vehicle owners’ civil liability (OSAGO) by 15.67% compared to the same period in 2020, to UAH 2.103 billion, including under electronic contracts in the amount of UAH 1.074 billion, which is 63.29% more than in 2020.
During this period, the companies entered into 2.775 million OSAGO contracts, which is 10.45% more than in the same period in 2020. Out of the total volume of agreements, some 1.28 million were concluded in electronic format, which is 61.06% more than in the first four months of 2020.
According to the data published on the MTIBU website, the total amount of accrued insurance claims under internal insurance agreements in January-April 2021 grew by 32.57%, to UAH 1.177 billion. In particular, UAH 220.439 million was paid using the European road accident reports, which is 42.75% more than in 2020.
The bureau also recorded an increase in the number of settled claims for insurance compensation by 22.47%, to 58,182, including 20,947 with the use of European road accident reports (30% more).
The MTIBU is the only association of insurers that provides compulsory insurance of land vehicle owners’ civil liability for damage caused to third parties. The bureau members are 48 insurance companies.

MTIBU MEMBER INSURERS RAISE OSAGO AGREEMENTS BY 7.7% IN Q1

Insurance companies that are members of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) in January-March 2021 increased the collection of insurance payments under the policies of compulsory insurance of land vehicle owners’ civil liability (OSAGO) by 13% compared to the same period in 2020, to UAH 1.670 billion, including under electronic contracts in the amount of UAH 744.4 million, which is 65.2% more than in 2020.
During this period, the companies entered into 1.913 million OSAGO agreements, which is 7.7% more than in the same period in 2020. Out of the total volume of agreements, some 877,743 were concluded in electronic format, which is 62.6% more than in the three months of 2020.
According to the data published on the MTIBU website, the total amount of accrued insurance claims under internal insurance agreements in January-March 2021 increased by 26%, to UAH 862 million. In particular, UAH 162.3 million was paid using the European road accident record forms, which is 32% more than in 2020.
The bureau also recorded an increase in the number of settled claims for insurance compensation by 14%, to 42,763, including with the use of European road accident record forms 15,450 (more by 18%).
The MTIBU is the only association of insurers that provides compulsory insurance of land vehicle owners’ civil liability for damage caused to third parties. The bureau members are 48 insurance companies.
