KYIV SIKORSKY AIRPORT SERVICES AROUND 1.5 MLN PASSENGERS IN JAN-JULY

Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport (Zhuliany) in January-July 2018 serviced around 1.5 million passengers, according to a posting on the official Facebook page of the airport. “On August 1, 2018, the airport serviced a 1.5 millionth passenger since the beginning of the year. The figure is indicative. It indicates the rapid and confident development of the airport. In August 2017, Hlib Deineha became the millionth passenger, he was then 3.5 years old,” the airport said. The press service said that the airport plans to service 2.8 million passengers by the end of 2018.
Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany) is located in the business center of the capital, seven km from the city center. BORYSPIL AIRPORT SERVICES 53,000 PASSENGERS DURING CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL IN KYIV

The Boryspil airport has serviced a record number of passengers during the final of the UEFA Champions League in Kyiv – almost 53,000 people. “On that day we serviced 52,599 passengers, which is the absolute record in the history of the Boryspil airport. For comparison, we had 38,000 passengers during the Euro-2012 final. Last year we once hit the mark of 40,000 passengers,” Director General of the airport Pavlo Riabikin said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
He said that on May 26, the airport serviced 31 charter flights with 6,393 fans of Real and fans of Liverpool used 40 flights (8,822 passengers). There were three flights with official delegations of the King of Spain, the prime minister of Gabon and the president of the Czech Republic, and 72 flights were additionally serviced. Riabikin said that the airport additionally earned UAH 31.5 million of net profit on that day.

UKRZALIZNYTSIA PREDICTS COMPANY TO CARRY 3.8 MLN PASSENGERS ON KYIV-BORYSPIL AIRPORT ROUTE IN 2019

Transportation on the Kyiv city-the Boryspil international airport route could reach 3.8 million passengers in 2019, according to Ukrzaliznytsia.
The company reported that as of May 22, around 25% of total works to build the high-speed railway line between Kyiv city and the airport was completed. A project on construction of the railway track was designed, the land parcels were allocated, and initial works on the site were started.
“According to preliminary data, the volume of passenger transportation by rail in 2019 will be 3.8 million passengers, with a further increase in 2020 to 4.1 million, in 2021 – to almost 4.4 million,” the company said.
In the future, it is planned to build a railway bridge 272 meters long over the Kyiv-Kharkiv highway, build passenger platforms with sheds near the Boryspil airport, completely equip the ground station and build new railroad tracks with a total length of 3.7 km.
The deadline for finishing construction is December 1, 2018. The total cost of the project is UAH 583.3 million.
Transportation of passengers by rail between Kyiv and the Boryspil airport is organized along the route between the stations Kyiv-Pasazhyrsky – Kyiv-Demiyivsky – Darnytsia – the station named after Kirpa – the Boryspil airport (Terminal D). In the future, another stop is planned near the railway overpass in the area of the highway Kyiv-Kharkiv. The rail buses of the Polish company PESA will run the route.
The estimated travel time will be 35-40 minutes. The train dwell time at the destination stations is 10 minutes.

KYIV INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SERVES 155,700 PASSENGERS IN MARCH, RISE 56% MONTH-TO-MONTH BASIS

In March 2018, Kyiv International Airport named after Igor Sikorsky served 155,700 passengers, which was 56.6% more than in March 2017.
The number of passengers served on international routes was 149,400 people, while those who flew on domestic routes numbered 6,300 people.
The number of flights in March 2018 was 1,975 both as arrivals and departures, which was 29.8% more than in the same period in 2017. These included 1,611 international flights and 364 domestic flights.
The most popular international destinations in March 2018 were Dubai (the UAE), Minsk (Belarus), Ankara (Turkey), Warsaw (Poland), Budapest (Hungary), Rome (Italy), and Memmingen (Germany). Odesa, Zaporizhia and Lviv were popular domestic destinations.

UKRAINE’S AIRLINES TRANSPORT 2.1 MLN PASSENGERS IN JAN-MARCH, 12% UP

Ukrainian airlines, according to live data from the State Aviation Service, transported 2.1 million passengers in January-March 2018, which is 12.7% more than in the same period in 2017. According to a report on the agency’s website, international traffic grew by 12.5%, to 1.885 million people.
Passenger flows through the airports of Ukraine increased by 21.8% and amounted to 3.625 million people, in particular international traffic rose by 23% and amounted to 3.16 million passengers.
During January-March 2017 Ukrainian airlines serviced 19,300 commercial flights (3.2% up year-over-year), including 15,900 international flights (1.3% up).
