The mobile operator lifecell in May launched 4G mobile communications in 343 settlements in all regions of Ukraine.
According to the operator’s statement, in general, as of the end of May, 10,911 settlements were connected to the lifecell 4G network, where a total of more than 27.9 million people live.
In May, the lifecell network was expanded in 343 settlements, where 196,000 Ukrainians live. Of these, 339 with a population of up to 5,000 people, and four with up to 25,000 people.
“With the deployment of the network, the consumption of data traffic has also grown. Thus, lifecell subscribers who use 4G consumed 81% more mobile Internet traffic in May, compared to the same period in 2020,” the operator said.
As of the end of May 2021, the leaders in the use of lifecell mobile Internet were:
– up to 5,000 people – Baturyn (Chernihiv region);
– up to 25,000 people – Zdolbuniv (Rivne region);
– up to 50,000 people – Fastiv (Kyiv region);
– up to 100,000 people – Uman (Cherkasy region);
– up to 500,000 people – Vinnytsia;
– up to 1 million people – Zaporizhia.
In the category of cities with a population of more than 1 million people, the first place is occupied by Kyiv, followed by Odesa and Kharkiv.
Kyivstar, a mobile operator, has connected 50 more settlements in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Khmelnytsky regions to the 4G network, the company’s press service has said.
Such an opportunity, in particular, appeared for subscribers in the settlements of Turbiv, Perehinske, Bilohirya, Hnezdychiv, Iziaslav, etc.
Kyivstar’s 4G network operates in 6,867 settlements, 90% of which are located in rural areas. The total number of residents in the territory of 4G accessibility is over 29 million people, or 70% of the population of Ukraine.
Over 7.5 million subscribers used 4G services in Kyivstar network.
Kyivstar is a Ukrainian telecommunications operator. It provides communications and data transmission services based on a wide range of mobile and fixed technologies, including 3G. At the end of 2018, its services were used by about 26.4 million mobile subscribers and about 900,000 fixed Internet customers.
Some 128 settlements in eight regions of Ukraine are cut off power due to poor weather conditions, the State Emergencies Service has informed. “Some 128 settlements in eight regions were cut off power on the night of December 25 as a result of poor weather conditions (rain, sometimes sleet and wind gusts), and the operation of the automatic transmission line protection system, namely 46 in Dnipropetrovsk, 43 in Kirovohrad, 16 in Mykolaiv, eight in Chernivtsi, six in Kyiv, five in Cherkasy, two in Zaporizhia and two in Chernihiv region,” the report says.
It is noted that the teams of regional power supply companies are involved in the restoration of power supply. “The movement of transport on roads is provided. Some 2,181 people and 1,600 vehicles were attracted from Ukravtodor to ensure traffic on the roads,” the Emergencies Service said.
