TRANSPORT ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE REDUCE CARGO TRANSPORTATION

The transport companies of Ukraine (excluding the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the JFO zone) in January-November 2020 reduced transportation of goods by 11.6% compared to the same period in 2019, to 546.6 million tonnes, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to the report, the freight turnover of carriers for the specified period decreased by 15.1%, to 263.9 billion tonne-kilometers.
According to statistics, over the 11 months of this year, 278.8 million tonnes of goods were transported by rail in domestic traffic and for export, which is 3.2% less than in January-November 2019. Some 174.6 million tonnes (less by 21.6%) were transported by road, 5.2 million tonnes (8.4% less) by water, 87.9 million tonnes (13.5% less) by pipeline, and 100,000 tonnes (6.5% less) by air.

TRANSPORT COMPANIES OF UKRAINE CARRIED 1.21 BLN PASSENGERS IN JAN-JUNE 2020

Transport companies of Ukraine carried 1.21 billion passengers in January-June 2020, which is 43.4% less than in the same period in 2019, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to its report, the passenger turnover of transport companies for the reporting period amounted to 22.9 billion passenger-kilometers, which is 58.9% less than in the same period last year.
According to the State Statistics Service, 32.1 million passengers used rail transport in January-June (including city train services), which is 58.9% less than in January-June a year earlier, and 513.8 million passengers were transported by road (43.4% less).
Air transport reduced passenger traffic by 67%, to 2 million people.
In addition, according to the State Statistics Service, in the first half of the year, trams were used by 200.9 million passengers (a decrease of 35.8%), metro some 176.6 million (a decrease of 50.3%), trolleybuses 285.1 million people (a decrease of 40.3%).
Passenger transportation by water transport decreased by 93.2% and amounted to about 10,000 people.
According to the State Statistics Service, the figures are given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, Sevastopol and part of the temporarily occupied area of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

UKRAINIAN TRANSPORT COMPANIES CARRY 939 MLN PEOPLE IN JAN-APR 2020

Ukrainian transport companies carried 939.3 million people in January-April 2020, which is 34.1% less than a year ago, the State Statistics Service has said.
The authority said that passenger turnover of transport companies over the period totaled 19.3 billion passenger/km, which is 39.6% less than a year ago.
According to the State Statistics Service, in January-April of this year, 28 million passengers used rail transport (including transportation by the city electric train), which is 43.1% less than in January-April 2019, and 394.7 million passengers (35.1% less) travelled by road.
Air transport decreased passenger transportation by 41.2%, to 2 million people.
In addition, according to the State Statistics Service, in January-April 151.6 million passengers used trams (a decrease of 26.6% compared with the same period a year earlier), subways carried 139.2 million people (a decrease of 41%), and trolleybuses some 223.8 million passengers (30.5% down).
Passenger transportation by water decreased by 96.2% and amounted to around 10,000 people.
According to the service, the indicators are given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, Sevastopol and part of the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

TRANSPORT COMPANIES OF UKRAINE REDUCE PASSENGER TRAFFIC BY 5.9% IN 2019

The transport companies of Ukraine in January-August 2019 carried 2.808 billion people, which was 5.9% down year-over-year (y-o-y), the country’s State Statistics Service has reported.
Transport companies’ passenger traffic for the reporting period was 72.4 billion passenger-kilometers, which was 4.5% up on January-August last year, it said.
In the eight months of 2019, some 105.3 million passengers were transported by rail (local commuter train services included), which was 0.5% down on January-August 2018, while 1.203 billion passengers were carried by road (5.3% down), the State Statistics Service said.
Transportation of passengers by air grew by 10.9%, to 9.1 million people.
In addition, in January-August 2019, some 407.1 million passengers used the services of trams (9.5% down y-o-y), 465.5 million travelled by subway (1.8% down), and 618.4 million people used trolleybuses (8.5% down), the statistics agency said.
Passenger transportation by water increased by 10.3% y-o-y, to 0.5 million people.
The State Statistics Service said the report did not cover temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, Sevastopol and parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

TRANSPORT COMPANIES OF UKRAINE REDUCE PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN H1

The transport companies of Ukraine in January-June 2019 carried 2.137 billion people, which is 6.3% less than in the same period of 2018, the State Statistics Service has reported. According to its data, the passenger traffic of transport companies for the reporting period amounted to 52.2 billion passenger-kilometers, which is 3.8% more than in January-June last year. According to the State Statistics Service, in the first six months, 78.3 million passengers were transported by rail (taking into account the city electric train), which is 0.3% more than in January-June 2018, and 907 million passengers were carried by road (5.6% less).
Air transport increased passenger traffic by 8.3%, to 5.9 million people.
In addition, according to the State Statistics Service, in January-June 2019 some 313 million passengers used the services of trams (a decrease of 10% compared to the same period in 2018), 355 million travelled by subway (a decrease of 1.9%), and 477.6 million people used trolleybuses (a drop of 9.1%).
Passenger transportation by water increased by 4.5% compared with January-June 2018, to 200,000 people.
The service said the figures are given excluding the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, Sevastopol and part of the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

UKRAINE’S TRANSPORT COMPANIES INCREASE CARGO TRANSPORTATION BY ALMOST 9.1%

Transport enterprises of Ukraine in January-April 2019 increased cargo transportation by 9.1% compared to January-April 2018, to 218.7 million tonnes. The State Statistics Service said freight turnover for this period increased by 2.8%, to 110.2 billion tonne-kilometers.
According to statistical data, in January-March 2019, some 86.2 million tonnes of cargo were transported by rail within the country and for exports, which is 0.4% less than in January-April 2018.
Transportation of timber decreased by 59.9%, construction materials by 24%, scrap ferrous metals by 17.7%, coke by 9.2%, ferrous metals by 3.9%, and coal by 4%. At the same time, transportation of iron and manganese ore grew by 3.8%, chemical and mineral fertilizers by 4%, grain and cereals by 19.9%, oil and petroleum products by 6.8%, and cement by 10.9%.
In January-April 2019 compared with the same period last year, the volume of cargo transported by pipelines increased. Thus, gas pumping fell by 0.4%, oil rose by 5.5%, gas transit grew by 5.6%, and oil grew by 5.7%. Pumping and transit of ammonia increased 20.8% and 17.7%, respectively.
