Amount of compensation to employers will increase from April 1 – Kyiv Employment Service

Starting April 1, 2024, according to the Law “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024”, the minimum wage in Ukraine will increase to UAH 8 thousand. This will change the amount of certain employment-related payments, the amount of which is aligned with the minimum wage.
In particular, the maximum amount of compensation to employers will increase.
Thus, the amount of compensation for the employment of citizens who have been registered as unemployed for more than 1 month (people with disabilities, combatants and those who have no more than 5 years left before the right to an old-age pension) will now amount to UAH 8 thousand (1 minimum wage).
Compensation for the employment of young people among the registered unemployed (under 25 years of age – with less than 12 months of insurance experience; under 35 years of age – for the first job; discharged from military / alternative service – for the first job) will increase to UAH 4 thousand (50 percent of the minimum wage).
The compensation for employment of citizens who have been registered as unemployed for more than 1 month and have additional employment guarantees or have been registered for more than 6 months will increase to UAH 3,520 (double the minimum insurance premium, which is 22 percent of the minimum wage).
Compensation for the employment of internally displaced persons during martial law will amount to UAH 8 thousand (1 minimum wage) starting from April 1, 2024. At the same time, the compensation of employer’s expenses for labor remuneration of IDPs hired by the employment centers will increase to UAH 16 thousand (2 minimum wages).
The amount of partial unemployment benefits per employee or individual entrepreneur will also increase to UAH 4 thousand (50% of the minimum wage).
The maximum amount of remuneration for participation in public works will also increase and from April 1 will amount to UAH 12 thousand per month (1.5 times the minimum wage).
For reference: Since the beginning of 2024, 295 employers in the capital have used the compensation programs of the Kyiv SLC and received payments in the amount of over UAH 7 million.

REAL WAGES IN UKRAINE 6% UP IN AUG

Real wages in Ukraine in August 2020 increased by 6% compared to August 2019, and decreased by 2.8% from July 2020, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal wages of full-time employees in August 2020 compared to the previous month decreased by 3%, and in annual terms (from August 2019) increased by 8.6%, amounting to UAH 11,446, which is 2.4 times more than the level of the minimum wage (UAH 4,723).
The agency clarifies that in July of this year it was UAH 11,804, in June UAH 11,579, in May UAH 10,542, in April UAH 10,430, in March UAH 11,446, in February UAH 10,847, January some UAH 10,727.
According to the statistics department, the largest increase in the average wage of full-time employees in August 2020 compared to the same month a year earlier was observed in Ternopil (by 14.9%), Mykolaiv (by 13.7%), Kirovohrad (by 13%), Sumy (by 12.4%), Chernihiv (by 12.3%), Chernivtsi (by 12.2%), Ivano-Frankivsk (by 12.1%), Khmelnytsky (by 11.9%) Rivne (by 11.7%), Luhansk (10.2%), and Zhytomyr (10.1%) regions.
The highest level of wages in the past month was observed in Kyiv (UAH 16,795), the lowest one in Chernivtsi region (UAH 8,996).
In August 2020 from August a year earlier, wages in provision of other services rose by 27.3%, in healthcare and social protection by 20.1%, in the field of arts, sports and entertainment by 19.5%, information and telecommunications by 15.1%, in the field of administrative, support services by 14.6%, in education by 11.8%, professional, scientific and technical activities by 10.1%, in agriculture, forestry and fisheries by 8.6%, at industrial enterprises by 7.2%, in real estate operations by 6%, in financial and insurance activities by 5.6%, in construction and in the sphere of wholesale and retail trade by 4.1%, in the field of public administration and defense, compulsory social insurance by 4%, at transport, storage facilities, in postal and courier activities by 2.7%.

UKRAINE WILL RAISE WAGES OF DOCTORS

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at an extraordinary meeting on June 19 approved a resolution according to which, starting from September 1, 2020, it will increase wages for health sector workers.
“The wages of doctors is one of the lowest in Ukraine, which is unacceptable, especially in the conditions of a worsening epidemic. The draft act proposes, starting July 1, 2020, the establishments of raises to wages for medical and other employees of medical institutions – doctors in the amount of 70% of the official wage, for specialists with basic higher and incomplete higher medical education in the amount of 50% of the minimum wage, to junior medical staff in the amount of 25% of the minimum wage,” Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov said.

REAL WAGES IN UKRAINE 10.7% UP

Real wages in Ukraine in February 2019 compared with February 2018 increased by 10.7%, while compared with January 2019 it decreased by 1.7%, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to the service, the average nominal wage of full-time employees in February 2019 compared with the previous month increased by 2.2%, in annual terms by 20.4%, reaching UAH 9,429.
The authority said that in January 2019 it amounted to UAH 9,223, in December 2018 – UAH 10,573, November – UAH 9,161, October – UAH 9,218, September – UAH 9,042, August – UAH 8,977 and July – UAH 9,170.
According to the statistics department, the largest increase in the average wage of full-time employees in February 2019 compared with February 2018 was observed Donetsk (25.1%), Vinnytsia (23.3%), Zaporizhia (22%), Ternopil (21.6%), Kyiv (21.5%), Kharkiv (21.4%), Poltava (21, 3%), Dnipropetrovsk (21.2%), Mykolaiv (20.9%), Sumy (20.4%), Ivano-Frankivsk (19.5%), Rivne (19.4%) regions and in Kyiv city (19.7%).
The highest level of wages in the past month was recorded in Kyiv city – UAH 14,513, and the lowest in Chernivtsi region – UAH 7,186.
In February 2019 compared with the same month of 2018, wages increased the most in professional, scientific and technical activities – by 37.1%, financial and insurance activities – by 26.3%, in construction – by 25.8%, industry – by 25%, in the field of IT and telecommunications – by 24.2% in transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities – by 24%, in real estate operations – by 21.4%, agriculture – by 21.3%, healthcare – by 20.6%, administrative and support services – by 20.2%.

REAL WAGES IN UKRAINE 9.5% UP IN JAN

Real wages in Ukraine in January 2019 compared with January 2018 increased by 9.5%, while compared with December 2018 it decreased by 13.6%, the State Statistics Service has reported. According to the service, the average nominal wage of full-time employees in January 2019 compared with the previous month decreased by 12.8%, in annual terms it grew by 19.6%, reaching UAH 9,223.
The authority said that in December 2018, it amounted to UAH 10,573, November – UAH 9,161, October – UAH 9,218, September – UAH 9,042, August – UAH 8,977 and July – UAH 9,170.
According to the statistics department, the largest increase in the average wage of full-time employees in January 2019 compared with January 2018 was observed in Zaporizhia (25.1%), Poltava (23.5%), Dnipropetrovsk (23.0%), Vinnytsia (22.4%), Ternopil (20.5%) and Kharkiv (20.2%) regions, while in Kyiv city this figure was 17.6%.
The highest level of wages in the past month was recorded in Kyiv city – UAH 13,721, and the lowest in Chernivtsi region – UAH 6,958.
In January 2019 compared with the same month of 2018, wages increased the most in IT and telecommunications – by 25.2%, in industry – by 24.9%, in construction – by 24.0%, in public administration and defense, compulsory social insurance – by 22.9%, administrative and support services – by 21.8%, and real estate transactions – by 20.3%.

REAL WAGES IN UKRAINE 11.4% UP IN NOV – STATISTICS

Real wages in Ukraine in November 2018 compared with November 2017 increased by 11.4%, compared with October 2018 it increased by 2%, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to the service, the average nominal wage of full-time employees in November 2018 compared with the previous month decreased by 0.6%, in annual terms it grew by 22.5%, reaching UAH 9,161, whereas in October it was UAH 9,218, in September it amounted to UAH 9,042, in August UAH 8,977, in July some UAH 9,170, June some UAH 9,141, May some UAH 8,725, April some UAH 8,480, March some UAH 8,382, February some UAH 7,828, and in January some UAH 7,711.
According to statistics, the largest rise in the average wage of full-time employees in November 2018 compared with November 2017 was observed in Poltava (by 27%), Zaporizhia (by 26.1%), Vinnytsia (by 26%), Kyiv (by 25.1%), Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia (by 24.2% each), Zhytomyr (by 24.1%), Mykolaiv (by 23.3%), Ivano-Frankivsk (by 23.2%), Rivne (by 22.8%), Lviv (by 22.7%), Chernihiv (by 22.4%), Volyn (by 21.8%), Kirovohrad (by 22%) regions and Kyiv city (by 19.4%).
Wage growth in Donetsk and Luhansk regions (excluding part of the JFO zone) was 21.3% and 18.3% respectively.
The highest level of wages in the past month was recorded in Kyiv at UAH 13,897, the lowest one in Chernivtsi region with UAH 7,221.
In November 2018 compared to the same month of 2017, wages increased in the area of administrative and support services (by 30.6%), construction (by 27.5%), financial and insurance activities (by 25.2%), industry (by 25%), transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities (by 24.2%), public administration and defense, compulsory social insurance (by 23.4%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (by 22.9%), real estate transactions (by 20.8%), the provision of other types of services (by 20.3%), wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (by 19.4%), education (by 18.4%), temporary accommodation and catering (by 16.8%), and health care (by 17.6%).
