WIZZ AIR PLANS TO RESTART FLIGHT FROM ABU DHABI TO ODESA

The Hungarian low cost airline Wizz Air intends to launch a flight from Abu Dhabi (the UAE) to Odesa from October 2020 due to the opening of an air carrier base in Abu Dhabi. Wizz Air’s press service said the flights will start on October 1 and will be operated on Thursdays and Sundays. A ticket price is from UAH 869 one way.
In addition, the airline launches flights from Abu Dhabi to Kutaisi, Alexandria, Athens, Larnaca and Yerevan.
“We are pleased to announce the further expansion of the Wizz route network in Ukraine, adding a new flight to Abu Dhabi. Since we invite even more passengers to use our services and scale up our activities, we have also introduced new safety rules to guarantee the health and well-being of passengers and crews while traveling with Wizz,” Wizz Air corporate communications manager Paulina Gosk said.
As reported, in early July, Wizz Air opened the second base in Ukraine at Lviv International Airport.
Wizz Air is the largest low cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe. The airline fleet consists of 120 Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft.

HUNGARIAN LOW COSTER WIZZ AIR OPENS BASE IN LVIV

The Hungarian low cost airline Wizz Air has opened the second base in Ukraine at Lviv International Airport.
According to the press service of the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine, in July the company will operate five new flights from western Ukraine, in particular, from Lviv to Billund (Denmark), Tallinn (Estonia), Lisbon (Portugal), Hamburg (Germany), and Szczecin (Poland).
Wizz Air also plans to expand its route network by opening flights from Kharkiv to Tallinn and Berlin.
“The Ukrainian aviation industry needs to be restored as soon as possible for a further stable functioning and growth. Therefore, it is very pleasant that both Ukrainian and leading international airlines do not lose optimism during the coronavirus crisis, but rather seek new opportunities for development, opening up new popular directions. Wizz Air is a leading low cost company, which was one of the first to enter the Ukrainian market back in 2008,” Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy said.
It is expected that the opening of a new Wizz Air base will bring Lviv more than $100 million investment in 2020 and create more than 30 jobs.
“We are convinced that investments in opening the base and new routes will stimulate the development of the local economy, aviation and tourism,” Andras Sebok, the chief supply chain officer at Wizz Air, said.
The director general of Lviv Airport, Tetiana Romanovska, in turn, noted that 17 directions to different cities of Europe have already been opened from the airport.

HUNGARIAN WIZZ AIR PLANS TO LAUNCH FLIGHT FROM DORTMUND TO ZAPORIZHIA

The Hungarian low cost airline Wizz Air intends in August 2020 to launch a flight from Dortmund (Germany) to Zaporizhia, due to the opening of an air carrier base in Dortmund. According to Wizz Air’s press service, flights will start on August 2 and will be operated on Wednesdays and Sundays. Ticket price is from UAH 729.
In addition, the airline launches flights from Dortmund to Alghero, Bari, Catania, Naples, Athens, Corfu, Heraklion, Rhodes, Santorini, Thessaloniki, Fuerteventura, Lisbon, Marrakesh, Podgorica, Reykjavik, and Suceava.

WIZZ AIR TO LAUNCH FLIGHT FROM KYIV TO SALZBURG

Hungary’s low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced the launch of the flight on the Salzburg (Austria) – Kyiv – Salzburg line from July 1, 2020.
The press service of the airline said on Friday that the flights will be performed on Wednesdays and Sundays. The cost of the ticket starts from EUR 20.
Along with Kyiv, Wizz Air will start flying from Salzburg to Belgrade, Skopje, Bucharest, Tuzla and Larnaca.
Earlier Wizz Air prolonged the suspension of its operations to and from Ukraine until June 15 inclusively, as a result of the extension of travel restrictions imposed by the Ukrainian government.

HUNGARY’S LOW-COST WIZZ AIR PROLONGS SUSPENSION OF OPERATIONS TO, FROM UKRAINE

Hungary’s low-cost airline Wizz Air has prolonged the suspension of its operations to and from Ukraine until June 15 inclusively, as a result of the extension of travel restrictions imposed by the Ukrainian government. The airline said last week that for passengers with bookings affected by flight suspensions 120% of the original fare will automatically be uploaded to the customer’s WIZZ account, with the amount to be used in the next 24 months for the purchase of Wizz Air products and services.
In addition, passengers can also opt for a cash refund – which will take longer to complete – and will be informed about the necessary steps for a bank transfer or transfer to a bank card in a separate e-mail. In this case, customers will be eligible for only 100% of the original fare.
Passengers who made their bookings via travel agencies – including online travel agencies – should get in touch with the company from which they purchased their tickets.
