UKRAINE SEES SLIGHT FALL IN CHEESE EXPORTS, IMPORTS GROWS BY 30% IN 2018

Ukraine exported 3,250 tonnes of cheese in January-May 2018, which is 0.7% less than in the same period in 2017. According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service, in monetary terms exports increased by 7.8%, to $12.24 million.
Cheese imports in January-May 2018 amounted to 4,650 tonnes, which is 30.5% more than in the same period in 2017. In monetary terms this figure increased 1.5-fold, to $23.36 million.
Exports of butter from Ukraine in January-May of this year increased 1.7-fold, to 14,790 tonnes. In monetary terms the figure amounted to $63.33 million. Butter imports rose 2.8-fold, to 483 tonnes ($3.17 million).
Exports of milk and cream (condensed) in January-May 2018 decreased 28.7%, to 13,026 tonnes. Ukraine supplied condensed milk and cream for a total of $21.88 million, which is 31.2% less than in January-May 2017.
