KHLIBPROM CONCERN SEES NET PROFIT RISE BY ALMOST 1.8 TIMES IN H1, 2017

KYIV. July 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PJSC Khlibprom Concern (Lviv), one of the largest bakeries in Ukraine, in January-June 2017 saw its net profit rise by 1.8 times compared to the same period in 2016, to UAH 5.75 million.
According to a concern report in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, its net income for the first half of the year rose by 7%, to UAH 491.98 million.
Gross profit increased by 4.5%, to UAH 171.8 million, operating profit decreased by 38%, to UAH 23.95 million.
PJSC Khlibprom Concern unites eight production divisions in Lviv and Vinnytsia regions. It owns the following trademarks: Khlibna Khata, VinnytsiaKhlib, Khlib Po-Lvivsky, Liubliana, Bandinelli, and Panerini.
Its core business is production of bread, confectionery and semi-finished bakery goods.

BELORUSNEFT AND ROMANIA’S TACROM WIN UKRGAZVYDOBUVANNIA TENDER FOR 40 FRACKING OPERATIONS

KYIV. July 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Belorusneft and Romania’s Tacrom have won a tender announced by PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia for implementation of 40 fracking operations on wells.
According to the results of the auctions posted in the ProZorro system, Tacrom won the first lot for 20 operations with an offer of UAH 95.75 million, Belorusneft won the second lot with an offer of UAH 95.664 million with the initially expected price being UAH 97.5 million (including VAT) for each of the lots.
As reported, hydraulic fracking operations should be carried out during one year on gas and gas condensate wells of Shebelynka and Poltava gas field managements mainly at a depth of 2,800-5,000 meters, but up to four operations for each lot are planned in wells with condensed reservoirs at depths up to 5,700 meters.

FTA BETWEEN UKRAINE AND CANADA COMES INTO EFFECT ON AUGUST 1

KYIV. July 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The free trade agreement between Ukraine and Canada will start working on August 1, 2017; Ukrainian ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko will give a briefing on topical issues prior to this event.
“On Tuesday, August 1, free trade between Ukraine and Canada officially starts: our free trade agreement will come into force,” Ukraine’s embassy in Canada quotes Shevchenko as saying.
The day before, on July 31, the ambassador will hold a thematic briefing for Ukrainian journalists.
“We will discuss the following issues: the main provisions of the Free Trade Agreement, new opportunities for Ukrainian companies, and prospects for Ukrainian-Canadian trade,” the diplomat said.
As earlier reported, the agreement from August 1 will cancel 98% of tariffs for Ukrainian exports to Canada and 72% of tariffs from Canada to Ukraine. Over the next seven years the latter will increase to 98%. Moreover, markets for state purchases are also included. Parts of the agreement safeguard electronic commerce and intellectual property rights.
The trade agreement between Canada and Ukraine was signed in Kyiv on July 11, 2016. Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada ratified the deal on March 14, 2017. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on ratification on April 3, 2017.

EU OFFICIAL JOURNAL PUBLISHES INFO ON ENTRY INTO FORCE OF ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT WITH UKRAINE FROM SEPT 1

KYIV. July 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Official Journal of the European Union has published a communiqué on the entry into force of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine starting from September 1, 2017.
“The Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and Ukraine, of the other part, signed in Brussels on 21 March 2014 and 27 June 2014 (1), enters into force on 1 September 2017, in accordance with Article 486(2) of the Agreement, as the last instrument of ratification or approval was deposited on 11 July 2017,” reads a statement posted on the official website for the EU legislation.
As reported, on July 11, the Council of the European Union completed the process of ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
