Chornomorsk seaport (Odesa region) in January 2020 increased cargo transshipment by 16.7% compared to the same period in 2019, to 2.309 million tonnes.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, during this period Chornomorsk port increased transshipment of exported cargo by 16.3%, to 1.909 million tonnes, imported goods by 11.2%, to 315,630 tonnes, transit cargo by 47.5%, to 78,760 tonnes, and also transshipped 5,500 tonnes of coastal freight (no transshipment of coastal freight in January 2019).
Handling of liquid cargo in the port in January 2020 fell by 11%, to 109,230 tonnes, dry bulk cargo grew by 25.1%, to 1.651 million tonnes, packaged goods by 2.3%, to 548,690 tonnes.
Container transshipment was 13,014 TEU (a rise of 24.5%).
As reported, the volume of transshipment at the port in 2019 rose by 21.4% compared to 2018, to 26.153 million tonnes.

Pivdenny maritime merchandise port in January 2020 handled 4.608 million tonnes of cargo, which is 28.45% more than in January 2019.
According to information from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, for the period the port increased transshipment of exported cargo by 9.4%, to 3.125 million tonnes, imported freight by 2.5 times, to 0.877 million tonnes, transit by 56%, to 0.606 million tonnes.
The port did not handle coastal cargo in January.
In January 2020, the port raised transshipment of liquid cargo by 16.76%, to 0.414 million tonnes, dry bulk cargo by 41.18%, to 3.91 million tonnes, and reduced transshipment of packaged goods by 38.7%, to 0.284 million tonnes.
Container transshipment amounted to 18,380 TEU (an decrease of 2.49% compared to the same period in 2019).
As reported, the port handled 53.862 million tonnes of cargo in 2019, which is 26.1% more than in 2018.
In January 2020 Ukrainian automobile manufacturers tentatively produced 849 vehicles, which is 5% less year-over-year, the Ukrautoprom association has reported.
The association recalled that Ukraine’s production facilities allow producing more than 30,000 vehicles.
Car assembly in January decreased by 5% to 787 units. As before, all statistics in this segment is formed by the SKD assembly of Skoda cars at the Eurocar plant.
Bus production decreased by 10% to 54 units, and Cherkasy Bus, which produced 30 vehicles (25% less than in January 2018), remains the leader in this segment. Chasiv Yar bus plant (Donetsk region) produced 13 buses, against three in January 2019, Chernihiv Automobile Plant of the Etalon Corporation made ten units against 14 last year and one bus was produced at Zaporizhia Automobile Plant (ZAZ) (four units a year ago).
Last month, only Cherkasy Bus reported on the production of commercial vehicles – eight units (twice as much as in January 2019). AvtoKrAZ still does not provide production data.
According to the statistics of the association, compared to December 2019, the production of vehicles in January 2020 increased by 52%, but only due to an increase in assembly at Eurocar by 82.2%, while the production of buses almost halved and that of commercial vehicles decreased by 54.6%.
As reported, Ukrainian automobile manufacturers in 2019 produced 7,265 vehicles (including 6,254 cars at Eurocar), which is 10% more than in 2018. However, capacity utilization did not exceed 2%.
State-controlled PrivatBank headed the rating of the most profitable Ukrainian banks in 2019, declaring UAH 32.609 billion in net profit, while Pravex-Bank recorded the largest loss last year at UAH 121.502 million.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Raiffeisen Bank Aval (UAH 4.749 billion) ranked second in the list of the most profitable banks, and FUIB (UAH 2.623 billion) was third, rising two positions in the fourth quarter. UkrSibbank (UAH 2.580 billion) ranked fourth, while OTP Bank (UAH 2.537 billion) ranked fifth, rising two lines.
At the same time, state-controlled Ukreximbank fell from the fourth position it held in the nine months of 2019, to the 11th one, declaring UAH 1.002 billion of net profit, and Ukrgasbank climbed six positions, to the 10th one, posting UAH 1.299 billion.
According to the central bank, Sky Bank ranked second in terms of losses, its net loss amounted to UAH 27.543 million, Alpari Bank ranked third (UAH 18.435 million), Cominvestbank (UAH 17.982 million) ranked fourth, while Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development ranked fifth (UAH 4.409 million). At the same time, Bank Credit Dnipro, which according to the results of its activities for the first nine months of 2019 was third in terms of loss, declared UAH 309.903 million in net profit and ranked 18th.
