CHINESE DIASPORA FROM UKRAINE SEND BATCH OF MEDICAL MASKS, PROTECTIVE OVERALLS, GLASSES AND SHOES TO WUHAN

The Chinese diaspora in Ukraine sent to Wuhan, the administrative center of the Chinese province of Hubei, which is the epicenter of the spread of the new type of coronavirus 2019-nCoV, a batch of medical masks, protective overalls, glasses and shoes, Xinhua News Agency has reported. “55,000 medical masks, 501 protective overalls, 747 pairs of goggles and 760 pairs of protective shoes will be delivered to the Chinese city,” the message said on Tuesday.
The agency also said Ukraine’s Tchaikovsky National Music Academy would transfer anti-epidemic protection to the Chinese province of Hubei.
“The decision to provide assistance to Hubei was made by the staff of the music academy, since we have a lot of Chinese students studying – over 200 people. In addition, China is our strategic partner, relations with which are very important for us,” Academy Rector Maksym Tymoshenko said in an interview.
According to him, the assistance provided to Hubei will include about 10,000 medical masks and overalls.
The Academy Development Assistance Fund and Confucius Music Center is also helping to purchase anti-epidemic protection products needed by the province because of the 2019-nCoV outbreak was also allocated by.
As of early Tuesday, a virus believed to have originated in Wuhan, China, claimed the lives of 426 people. Meanwhile, more than 20,000 in 27 countries have been infected.

NONRESIDENTS BOOST INVESTMENT IN UKRAINIAN GOVERNMENT BONDS BY 6.1%

The volume of government domestic loan bonds bought by nonresidents grew by 6.1% or UAH 7.2 billion, to UAH 124.9 billion, the Finance Ministry said on its Facebook page last week.
According to the report, thus, as of January 31, 2020, the share of foreigners of the total volume of government bonds issued in Ukraine for the first time exceeded 15%.
“The share of other holders of government bonds in January only decreased: legal entities – by 6.5%, to UAH 24.6 billion, individuals – by 5%, to UAH 9.2 billion, banks – by 2.83%, to UAH 326.9 billion, and the National Bank – by 1.4%, to UAH 332.4 billion,” the ministry said.
In January of this year, the volume of government bonds in circulation decreased by UAH 9.1 billion.

PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE INVITES TURKISH BUSINESSES TO PARTICIPATE IN TENDERS FOR CONCESSION OF UKRAINIAN AIRPORTS, SEAPORTS, ROADS

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has invited Turkish companies to participate in tenders for concession of Ukrainian airports, seaports and roads which will be held soon.
“One of our priorities is large-scale modernization of our infrastructure, including roads, airports, seaports, launch of river transport. We have announced the first tenders for concession of the Olvia and Kherson seaports. We are also preparing new tenders for Ukrainian airports and seaports, as well as concession projects for road. We are inviting Turkish businesses for active participation in them and we hope you will invest in this sector,” he said during the Ukrainian-Turkish Business Forum in Kyiv on Monday.
