AREA OF NEW CONSTRUCTION REACHES 16.7 MLN SQ M IN 2018 – UKRAINIAN STATISTICS

The total area of new residential and nonresidential buildings as of the start of their construction in 2018 totaled 16.706 million square meters. According to the report, the total area of residential buildings at the beginning of construction in 2018 was 12.874 million square meters, or 77% of the total new construction. Including, apartment buildings accounted for 96.7% (12.442 million square meters), single-apartment buildings accounted for 3.2% (417,600 square meters), and dormitories 0.1% (13,760 square meters).
According to statistics, nonresidential facilities, which began to build in 2018, accounted for 23% of the total new construction, or 3.8 million square meters.
Thus, the area of new construction of warehouses and industrial buildings in 2018 amounted to 974,600 square meters (25.4%), retail real estate 648,900 square meters (19.9%), buildings for public speeches, educational institutions, medical and recreational institutions 429,800 square meters (11.2%), hotels and restaurants 355,800 square meters (9.3%), and office buildings 244,400 square meters (5.9%).
Data for 2017 is not available due to the introduction of the new statistics by of the State Statistics Service.

UKRAINIAN RIBAS PLANS TO OPEN ONE MORE HOTEL

Ribas Hotels Group LLC (Odesa), the managing company of the national chain of midscale and upscale tourist hotel and restaurant complexes, plans to open a hotel in Karolino-Buhaz (Odesa region) in 2020. “In the resort village of Karolino-Buhaz, in May 2020 we will launch the Montana Beach hotel with 69 rooms: standard, junior suite, and suite. For guests with disabilities, we also open superior rooms. The interior and exterior of the facility are styled of America in 1950s of. The planned amount of investment is $2.7 million,” Director General of Ribas Hotels Group Artur Lupashko said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, the company is positioning the facility as a family hotel. Thus, the project includes a medical center and a nursing room; on each floor there are special alcoves for storing baby strollers.
In addition, the infrastructure of the facility includes two restaurants, one of which is designed on the roof, next to the lounge area and the playground.
“We are also currently finishing work on the environment-friendly facility project for introverts on the Kinburn Spit with about 30 rooms with a small oriental restaurant. It will be small cozy campgrounds. The planned investment amount is $1 million,” Lupashko said.
He said that according to the project, the complex includes a swimming pool, a barbecue area, an open cinema hall, and an entertainment zone with trampolines. The project plan also includes a building for staff accommodation.
Ribas Hotels Group LLC (Odesa) was established in 2017.

DELTA WILMAR TO BUILD NEW BERTH AT YUZHNY PORT

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority and Delta Wilmar CIS have signed amendments to the memorandum and defined priority areas in implementing the next public-private partnership project at Yuzhny seaport.
According to the report on the agency’s website, it is planned that private investors will build new berth No. 37 in the port, a plant for processing soybeans, as well as storage and handling facilities for handling bulk agricultural cargo. The agency, in turn, will conduct dredging works to create an operational water area and an approach channel to the new pier.
According to the plans of Delta Wilmar CIS, the new plant for processing soybeans will have a capacity of up to 2,000 tonnes per day, a terminal for the accumulation and simultaneous storage of grain and meal for 40,000 tonnes.
Delta Wilmar CIS LLC was established in 2004. It specializes in the production of oil and fat goods and ingredients for bakery, confectionery and dairy products.

TOURISM FEE RATE IN LVIV WILL BE 0.2-0.5%

Lviv City Council has set the rates of tourism fee at 0.2% to 0.5% of the minimum wage for Ukrainian and foreign tourists, depending on the cost of their accommodation. The rates will take effect on April 1, 2019.
According to the report on the website of Lviv City Council, the smallest rate of tourism fee is 0.2% of the minimum wage (UAH 8.4) and will be applied if payment for accommodation does not exceed UAH 350 per day.
If the cost of living is UAH 350-750 per day, the tourism fee will be 0.3% (UAH 12.5), UAH 750-1,200 per day some 0.4% of the minimum wage (UAH 16.7).
The rate for tourists who pay more than UAH 1,200/day for accommodation will be 0.5% of the minimum wage (UAH 20.86).
At the same time, Lviv City Council set equal tourism fee rates for Ukrainian and foreign tourists, the report says.
At the same time, it is noted that the rate of tourism fee for tourists living in the private sector is calculated on the basis of the cost of such property per day, regardless of the number of residents.
