High jumper Iryna Gerashchenko wins bronze medal at Olympics

High jumper Iryna Gerashchenko won a bronze medal in the women’s high jump final at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Iryna Gerashchenko and Australia’s Eleanor Patterson are tied for third place. At the same time, high jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh won the gold medal in the women’s high jump at the Olympic Games.

Mykhailo Kokhan wins bronze in hammer throw at Olympics

Ukrainian athlete Mykhailo Kokhan won a bronze medal in the hammer throw final at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Kokhan threw the projectile 79 meters 39 cm. Canadian Ethan Katzberg became the Olympic champion with a distance of 84 m 12 cm, and Hungarian Halas Benze took second place with a distance of 79 m 97 cm.

Yaroslava Maguchikh wins gold medal in high jump at Olympic Games

High jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh won the gold medal in the women’s high jump at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Yaroslava Maguchikh finished the final with a height of 2.04 meters, beating Australian Nicola Oleslagers in the final.

Maguchikh is a world record holder, Olympic champion at the 2024 Summer Olympics, bronze medalist at the 2020 Summer Olympics, European indoor track and field champion (2021), European junior champion, world and European youth champion, world record holder (2024) and world record holder among juniors (under 20), world (2023) and European (2022, 2024) champion.

China announces support of more than 110 countries for plan for political settlement of situation in Ukraine

Li Hui, the Chinese government’s special representative for Eurasian affairs, said that 110 countries supported the joint plan of China and Brazil, the Six-Point Consensus, for a political settlement of the “Ukrainian crisis” (as China prefers to call the Russian invasion of Ukraine), the Chinese Foreign Ministry reports.

“The current war between Russia and Ukraine is still ongoing, and the top priority is to help cool the situation. The “Six-Point Consensus” jointly issued by China and Brazil to promote a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis has received positive feedback from more than 110 countries. China is willing to continue to strengthen communication and coordination with Brazil to jointly promote a final political solution to the Ukrainian crisis,” Li Hui said.

It is noted that on July 29, Li Hui visited Brazil and held meetings and talks with government officials, with whom he exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine.

“Ukrzaliznytsia” warns of delays in number of Kharkiv trains

Due to the nighttime shelling of the railway infrastructure in Poltava region, Kharkiv-bound trains are still running with delays, and there will be a delay in the departure of return trains on Sunday evening, Ukrzaliznytsia reported.

According to a message posted on Telegram, trains #21/22 Kharkiv – Lviv (+10:34); #103/104 Kramatorsk – Lviv (+10:34); #1/2 Kharkiv – Ivano-Frankivsk (+10:06); #201/202 Kharkiv – Vorokhta (+10:06); #63/64 Kharkiv – Lviv (+4:57); #111/112 Izyum – Lviv (+4:57); #112/111 Lviv – Izyum (+2:25) are delayed.

Also in the evening, flight #64/63 Lviv – Kharkiv will depart from the terminal station approximately 2 hours later than its schedule; # 112/111 Lviv – Izyum will depart from the terminal station approximately 2 hours later than its schedule; # 2/1 Ivano-Frankivsk – Kharkiv will depart from the terminal station approximately 3 hours later than its schedule; # 202/201 Vorokhta – Kharkiv will depart from the terminal station as scheduled, but will receive an unscheduled parking at Ivano-Frankivsk station lasting about 3 hours.
