The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade (ICMT) has completed a review of antidumping measures regarding the import of seamless stainless steel pipes to Ukraine from China, extending their effect for another five years.
According to a report in the Uriadovy Kurier newspaper published on December 19 of this year, the measures were revised in connection with their expiration.
Based on the results of the revision, the ICMT found that the level of anti-dumping measures applied was sufficient to prevent dumping of imports and causing damage to the national producer; the position of exporters and economic conditions are such that the possibility of new types of dumping that will harm domestic producers is not ruled out.
The current voluntary pricing commitments from foreign manufacturer/exporter Zhejiang Longda Stainless Steel Co., Ltd are sufficient to prevent dumping and damage.
“National interests require the continuation of anti-dumping measures regarding the import of seamless stainless steel pipes to Ukraine from China,” the commission said.
In this regard, the commission decided to complete the revision and extend the anti-dumping measures applied by its decision of November 27, 2014 for another five years. At the same time, extend the voluntary price commitment of Zhejiang Longda Stainless Steel Co. to stop dumping imports of seamless stainless steel pipes to Ukraine from China. The final anti-dumping measures should not be applied to this manufacturer/exporter, due to the fact that the voluntary obligation to stop dumping imports to Ukraine continues.
The decision of the commission made on December 14, 2020 came into force from the date of publication of this report (from December 19, 2020).
The first full-length documentary film about coronavirus “COVID-2019: Exiting Red Zone” in the post-Soviet space was shot in Ukraine.
According to a press release from the film’s team, the film was shot just over two months.
The film was shot in the genre of “expedition film” in seven regions of Ukraine: the shooting took place in Kyiv, Kramatorsk, Kryvy Rih, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa and Cherkasy.
The plot is based on the stories of 65 characters, including medical workers, volunteers, ambulance drivers, entrepreneurs, employees, as well as patients and relatives of patients with COVID-19. The film crew visited 15 reference hospitals working with COVID-19 patients, as well as three intensive care units, where critically ill patients with serious complications were treated.
The film was shot within the project “Seven Films of Bno-Airiian” of former head of Kyiv Regional State Administration Mykhailo Bno-Airiian, who in the summer of 2019 headed Kyiv Regional State Administration and was in office for 100 days.
Ocean Shipyard (Mykolaiv) has signed a memorandum with the state defense concern of Turkey on joint activities to implement a project to build a series of corvette class ships for the Ukrainian Navy in pursuance of a framework military agreement signed in October this year during a meeting of the two presidents in Ankara, as well as a contract for building corvettes signed by the parties in Kyiv on December 14.
According to the company’s press release, in order to localize the corvette program, the state defense concern of Turkey conducted an audit of the technical capabilities of Ukrainian shipbuilding enterprises. Ocean shipyard was selected and included in the corvette program, taking into account the unique technical capabilities of the enterprise, the availability of professional personnel and the current program of modernization of production assets.
The memorandum provides for the conclusion of separate contracts between the parties within clearly agreed terms and specific steps of cooperation within the framework of the corvette program.

The volume of construction work performed in Ukraine in October 2020 increased by 13.3% compared to October 2019, while in September compared to September a year earlier – by 11.8%.
The retail trade turnover of Ukraine in October 2020 grew by 15.2% compared to the same month in 2019 in comparable prices, while in the previous month the growth was 11.6%, the State Statistics Service said.
