Full list of Oscar nominees announced

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the full list of nominees for the 98th Academy Awards, the world’s most prestigious film industry awards. The ceremony will take place on the night of March 15-16, Kyiv time, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

“This year’s nominations demonstrate the extraordinary diversity of contemporary cinema, from large-scale studio projects to auteur films that are shaping the new language of world cinema,” the academy said in a statement.

In Ukraine, the ceremony will be commented on by theater and film actor and director Oleksiy Hnatkovsky, who will also host a special pre-show before the awards ceremony begins.

The broadcast schedule in Kyiv time is as follows:

  • 11:00 p.m. — start of the pre-show;
  • 12:30 a.m. — red carpet broadcast;
  • 1:00 a.m. — start of the Oscar awards ceremony.

At the same time, the streaming platform Netflix has released a special selection of films related to this year’s Oscars, so viewers can watch some of the films in advance and prepare for the main cinema event of the year.

Ten films of various genres are nominated in the Best Picture category this year , ranging from historical dramas to big Hollywood productions.
