In January-August 2023, insurance companies-members of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) concluded 5.021 million contracts of compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of land vehicles (CTP), which is 10.17% more than in the same period a year earlier.
According to the data published on the MTIBU website, 3.370 million contracts were concluded in electronic form, which is 22.5% more than in January-August last year.
In January-August, the Bureau’s members increased the collection of insurance premiums under MTPL policies by 28.2% compared to the same period in 2022 – up to UAH 5.482 billion, including UAH 4.036 billion (+41.06%) under electronic contracts.
The total amount of accrued insurance claims under domestic insurance contracts increased by 37.16% to UAH 2.433 billion, including UAH 527.5 million paid using the Europrotocol (+45.5%).
The Bureau also recorded an increase in the number of settled insurance claims by 11.5% to 82,069 thousand, including 32.6 thousand (+12.48%) using the Europrotocol.
MTIBU is the only association of insurers in Ukraine that provides compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of land vehicles for damage caused to third parties. The Bureau’s members include 35 insurance companies.
