The first transaction for the export of milk powder to Ukraine has been completed at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), the press service of the BUCE has reported.
“Following the trading session, a Ukrainian company purchased from a Belarusian manufacturer a trial batch of 40 tonnes of skimmed milk powder for $108,000. Earlier, Ukrainian participants mainly purchased scrap metals, construction materials, flour and plant seeds at the BUCE, and showed no interest in domestic dairy products,” the press service said.
The first deal on the purchase of Belarusian milk powder by the Ukrainian company on the stock exchange is considered a landmark event in terms of export diversification.
“This, first of all, was facilitated by the active work of the exchange to attract new buyers from Ukraine to the auction. In particular, the company that completed the transaction is a large importer of agricultural products to the Ukrainian market. On the other hand, an important role was played by the flexible marketing policy of Belarusian dairy processors, who were able to offer their products at a competitive price. As practice shows, a trial purchase is usually followed by transactions of a much larger volume. We look forward to a similar scenario in this case,” the press service said.
They also noticed that Ukraine is in the top five countries in terms of the number of companies accredited on the exchange.
“At the same time, in the first half of the year, the number of Ukrainian participants increased by 16% and amounted to 326. Exchange trade turnover with Ukraine has also significantly increased: following the results of the six months, it reached $24.6 million, which is 58% more than in the same period in 2020,” the report says.
In general, in the first half of 2021, the export of milk powder through the BUCE increased by 4.5 times. The main buyers were residents of the Russian Federation.

The price of land plots in Kyiv has risen by an average of 5-10% since the beginning of 2021, according to Park Lane real estate agency.
“Land reacts least of all to changes in external factors (economic, political) due to limited supply within Kyiv. Land prices are showing growth, especially with a good location. Liquid land plots can always be profitably and quickly sold,” director general of Park Lane Viktoria Barabash said.
According to the analysis of Park Lane, the most expensive offer is in Pechersky district of the capital – $ 60,000-100,000/100 sq m, in Holosiyevsky district – $ 25,000-50,000/100 sq m, in Solomiansky district – $ 20,000-40,000/100 sq m.
Barabash noted an active demand for the purchase of land within the capital, but the interest in such real estate is lower than in houses or apartments built in residential complexes.
Today there is a choice of land plots in different districts of Kyiv and with a different purpose, ranging from 600 to 92,000 sq m.
According to Park Lane, the most diverse selection of land plots is in Holosiyevsky district (Pyrohovsky Way, Chabanovska Street, Kazatska Street, etc.), Solomiansky (Sovky), in Pechersk (Zverynetska Street, Redutna Street, etc.). Also, buyers are always interested in the land in Osokorky, Rusanivski gardens, where there is access to the water.
Prometey Group has acquired an elevator (Zolochiv, Kharkiv region), designed for a one-time storage of 30,000 tonnes of grain, the asset will strengthen the position of the grain trader in Kharkiv region, which is profitable for agribusiness, the company’s website says. “Thanks to the Zolochiv elevator complex, we want to provide farmers with a new quality of services, including the services of Agromarket. Due to the new asset, Prometey Group plans to strengthen its position in Kharkiv region,” regional director of the elevator direction Dmytro Maksymenko said.
Prometey clarified that the Zolochiv elevator with a simultaneous storage capacity of 30,000 tonnes is certified for storage of grain and oilseeds. The complex has a grain-cleaning separator with a capacity of 100 tonnes/hour, and grain dryers with a capacity of 64 tonnes/hour.
The capacity of unloading grain by the elevator to railway transport is 400 tonnes/day, and the granary is also equipped with three truck unloaders. Weighing is carried out on scales with a carrying capacity of 60 tonnes and a platform length of 16 meters.
The company noted that the decision to expand the presence of Prometey at the expense of Kharkiv region is dictated by the high technical efficiency of agriculture in this region. The company referred to the studies of the Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) and the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club association according to which Kharkiv region is one of the “references” for agricultural activities, and the stable growth of acreage and production of agricultural products favorably influences the development of the elevator industry.
Prometey recalled the Agromarket program, operating on the basis of each elevator in the chain, and allowing the company’s client farmers to purchase the necessary agricultural goods in one place, including on the security of the future harvest.
