In the Odessa region categorically prohibited bathing in the sea, as well as catching fish and seafood in open reservoirs, reports Odessa city council.
“According to the results of laboratory research (virological, microbiological, parasitic) samples of water from environmental objects, the laboratories of the State Institution “Odessa OTCPH MH” for the last week were isolated infectious disease pathogens, in particular Salmonella enteritidis and Typhimurium, rota astroviruses, cholera-like NAH vibrios, cholera-like vibrios alginoliticus, parahaemoliticus, eggs and larvae of helminths both humans and animals (pinworms, hairworms, canine ascariids, cryptosporidium oocysts),” the Facebook message states.
In addition, the LCP (lactopositive E. coli) index significantly exceeds the regulatory requirements.
“The presence of all the listed biological pathogens in the water of open water bodies of the Odessa region, in particular, the Black Sea, the Belgorod-Dnistrovsky estuary and the river. Danube, poses a real threat to the life and health of the population. Therefore it is strictly prohibited to swim in the sea, catch fish and seafood in the open waters (river and sea places of recreation). It is also necessary to refrain from eating fish and seafood of unknown origin”, – stressed in the City Council.
