CABINET OF MINISTERS PERMITS BIOPHARMA TO EXPORT DONOR BLOOD PREPARATIONS FOR INDEFINITE PERIOD OF TIME

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has permitted the manufacturer of blood-derived products Biopharma Plasma LLC (Kyiv region) to sell donor blood preparations outside of the country for the indefinite period of time. The government approved the resolution at a meeting on Tuesday. The implementation of the resolution will contribute to an increase in the volume of production of medicines and the expansion of the export potential of Ukraine.
As reported, at the end of 2017, the Cabinet of Ministers issued Biopharma Plasma a license to export 32 names of medicines and medical products outside Ukraine in 2018.
Biopharma is among the ten largest Ukrainian drug manufactures. Biopharma produces more than 20 immunobiological preparations of blood, as well as drugs obtained by recombinant DNA technology and probiotics.
According to the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, shares in Biopharma Plasma belong to Niobera Investments Limited (Cyprus). The holder of a majority stake and the beneficiary (the holder) of the majority stake of the shareholder Niobera Investments Limited is Kostiantyn Yefymenko. Another beneficiary of Niobera Investments Limited is Vasyl Khmelnytsky.

ANDRZEJ RAJKIEWICZ FROM POLAND ELECTED HEAD OF SUPERVISORY BOARD OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY FUND

The supervisory board of the Energy Efficiency Fund has elected Andrzej Rajkiewicz its head, the press service of Deputy Prime Minister, Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Minister of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko has reported.
“Rajkiewicz was elected head of the supervisory board of the Energy Efficiency Fund – a person who has extensive experience in energy efficiency in Poland and other European countries. This decision was made at the first meeting of the fund’s supervisory board on December 17,” Zubko said.
According to him, the meeting also approved the rules of procedure for the meetings of the supervisory board, determined the procedure for selecting members of the directorate and the head of the internal audit unit, approved the action plan for 2018 and the first quarter of 2019. In addition, the announcement of the tender to select management is expected.
As reported, four members of the fund’s supervisory board have already been selected, the last one is expected to be defined – a representative from the European Union.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine selected its representatives in the supervisory board of the Energy Efficiency Fund: Deputy Finance Minister Yuriy Heletei and Director of the life-support systems economy department of the Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ministry Natalia Khotsianovska.
Winners of the tender to select independent members of the supervisory board of the Energy Efficiency Fund are Andrzej Rajkiewicz Миралинкс (Poland) and Yulia Sabatiuk (Ukraine).
Two representatives from the government, one representative from international donors and two independent representatives will be members of the supervisory board of the Energy Efficiency Fund. They are elected for five years.

GOVT INCREASES CHARTER CAPITAL OF YOUTH HOUSING CONSTRUCTION FUND

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Tuesday amended the regulations of the State Fund of Ukraine for the Promotion of Youth Housing Construction, in particular, boosting its charter capital by UAH 30 million, to UAH 331.3 million, and authorizing the Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ministry to manage the fund.
According to a draft resolution, the increase of the fund’s charter capital by UAH 30 million would allow 40 families to buy apartments.
The change of the fund’s regulations, in particular, authorizing the regional development ministry to manage it, is required to bring the regulations in line with the government’s decision made in 2011, according to an explanatory note to the document.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers had previously made changes to the procedure for providing government support and providing affordable housing, in particular, allowed applicants to independently choose housing within the established prices and area (depending on the number of family members).

GRAIN HARVEST IN 2018 TOTALS 70 MLN TONNES

Gross grain harvest in 2018 totals around 70.1 million compared with 62 million last year, the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine has reported. According to a press release of the ministry, the country threshed 35.5 million tonnes of corn, 24.5 million tonnes of wheat, 7.3 million tonnes of barley, 0.41 million tonnes of rye and 0.13 million tonnes of buckwheat.
In addition, some 13.7 million tonnes of sunflower, 4.4 million tonnes of soybeans, 2.6 million tonnes of rapeseeds were harvested and 13 million tonnes of sugar beets were dug. The largest grain harvest was recorded in Poltava region (6.4 million tonnes). Some 6.1 million tonnes was harvested in Vinnytsia region and 4.8 million tonnes in Cherkasy region.
The highest yield for grain and leguminous crops was in Cherkasy region (7.28 tonnes per ha), as well as in Khmelnytsky region (7.16 tonnes per ha) and Vinnytsia region (7.13 tonnes per ha).
The ministry predicts that grain exports in 2018/19 agricultural year (July-June) would be 47.2 million tonnes compared with 39.9 million tonnes in 2017/18 agri-year.
As of December 18 of this year, from the beginning of the 2018/2019 agri-year, Ukraine exported 21.02 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, in particular, 10.02 million tonnes of wheat, 3.1 million tonnes of barley, 7.5 million tonnes of corn and 0.4 million tonnes of other cereals have been exported so far.
