The Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, as submitted by the national federations, has approved the names of the Ukrainian Olympic team to participate in the Tokyo Olympics.
“Despite the impact of the global pandemic and significant changes in the sports calendar, in particular the postponement of the games from 2020 to 2021, Ukrainian athletes overcame a tough qualifying selection, fighting for the right to represent the country in the competitions of the strongest athletes on the planet,” according to the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
According to the message, Ukraine will be represented at the Olympics by 158 Olympians in 25 sports (30 disciplines).
Athletes will perform in badminton, boxing, freestyle (and women’s) Greco-Roman wrestling, weightlifting, cycling (highway, track, mountain bike), rowing and canoeing (rowing slalom), sports gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, judo, karate, equestrian sports, athletics, swimming, artistic swimming, archery, bullet shooting, diving, jumping on a trampoline, modern pentathlon, tennis, ping-pong, triathlon and fencing.
