The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Yuriy Bolokhovets, who has been acting director of the state specialized economic enterprise Forests of Ukraine since late April, as CEO.
Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, wrote on Telegram that the decision was made at a government meeting on Friday.
As reported, on April 28, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Bolokhovets from the post of head of the State Agency of Forest Resources, which he had held since 2021.
In September 2022, Ukraine launched a reform of the state forestry industry, which merged all 158 forestry enterprises in the country into the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” and consolidated 24 regional forestry departments into nine regional forestry and hunting departments.
It was noted that in the first half of 2023, the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” doubled its net profit to UAH 1.6 billion, and sales of forest products increased by 20% to 5.3 million cubic meters.
