In Bucha, mothers and wives of military personnel were honored on Mother’s Day during a charity event called “I was born Ukrainian.” About 20 women who are closest to Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers not only received gifts and enjoyed a concert program, but also had the opportunity to sincerely express their thoughts and feelings. The event was organized by the “New Environment, New Opportunities” Club and the Gostomel Department of Culture, Youth, and Sports with the support of the Public Council at the Bucha District State Administration.
On Mother’s Day, more than 20 wives and mothers of military personnel were honored in Bucha, at the “Rome” complex. Natalia Buzhynska, People’s Artist of Ukraine, and Mykhailo Hrytskan, Honored Artist of Ukraine, tirelessly sang soulful patriotic and lyrical songs for the heroines of the holiday, while partners of the event presented them with gifts and volunteers and veterans thanked them for their brothers and sisters. Mother’s Day serves as a celebration of kindness, light, endless care, patience, love, and devotion to mothers. In the context of a large-scale war, recognition not only of the military but also of their mothers and wives and support for their home front takes on great significance. That is why the club “New Environment – New Opportunities” and its chairwoman Taisiya Apolonova, the Gostomel Department of Culture, Youth, and Sports, with the support of the Public Council at the Bucha District State Administration, organized this event.
Shirant Tetyana, Klymenko Olena, Ostapenko Hanna, Makushenko Raisa, Vinichuk Nadiya, Petrosyuk Nadiya, Vita Parfeniuk, Kornienko Tetyana, Zagorska Lyudmila, Lyhosherst Lyudmila – all mothers of boys who are currently defending Ukraine received gifts from the event partners. The organizers also paid attention to the wives of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and female philanthropists: Iryna Maslikova (volunteer community “Gorenki Mavki”), Oksana Karpovets-Lysenko (mother of many children, group “Siti Peremohy Nemishaieve”), Larysa Leshchynska (head of the NGO “Gromadska Promin Maybutnogo”), Inna Yatel (volunteer at DFG Bucha No. 1), Alona Nazarenko (founder of the “For Ukrainians” Charitable Foundation), Maria Gordienko (wife of a volunteer, philanthropist), Alina Fedulova (volunteer community “Gorenki Mavki”), Valentina Zhelezko (machine gunner in a mobile fire group), Inna Guseva (volunteer, head of the Polissya-2015 Charitable Foundation).
As noted by the organizer of the charity event, head of the club “New Environment – New Opportunities” Taisiya Apolonova, first of all, we must be grateful to the mothers and wives of those who are defending Ukraine today, because they are the ones who motivate their sons and husbands to take risks for the sake of Ukraine.
“I was born Ukrainian” is not just the idea behind the event—thanks to Natalia Tsapenko (owner of the modern embroidered clothing brand ‘Nashe Korinnya’), Olga Khamaydyuk (designer of head wreaths and owner of the decoration brand ‘Masternya Magii’), Nina Pryma (head of the LLC ” Kalina LLC, Svitlana Golovchuk (designer, founder of the Passarinho brand), mothers, volunteers, and wives of military personnel dressed in beautiful national costumes. This once again demonstrated the indestructibility of the genetic code of the Ukrainian nation.
According to Oleksandr Golizdra, Head of the League for Energy Development of Ukraine and Head of the Public Council Committee at the Bucha District State Administration, the moral and emotional support of people close to the military not only energizes Ukraine’s defenders, but also strengthens the nation’s resilience.
