Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry together with Korean companies KERSO and KOTRA plan to implement pilot projects for the use of Smart Grid technology for 0.4-110 kV electricity grids, the ministry’s press service has reported. As of now, energy ministry employees are searching for sites to implement the pilot projects. In particular, some facilities of JSC Khmelnytskoblenergo power supply company are being considered. The Smart Grid technology is designed to improve the efficiency of managing the electric grids, reduce process losses, and improve the quality of electricity supply.
