The number of deaths in Ukraine in April 2021 amounted to 68,620, which is 48.5% more than in April 2020, the State Statistics Service reported on Friday. This is the highest rate of deaths since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the service, in general, since the beginning of the year, 242,670 people have died in Ukraine, which is 24.3% more than in the last leap year.
As reported, in August 2020, the number of deaths in the country was 3.9% more than in August a year earlier, in September – by 15.4%, in October – by 17.5%, in November – by 35%, in December – by 42.9%, in January of this year – by 7.7%, in February – by 9%, and in March – by 34.4%.
Nova Poshta Global, part of the Nova Poshta group of companies, notes a 28% increase in Ukrainians’ orders from AliExpress compared to April last year.
According to a press release, in January-March of this year Nova Poshta Global delivered over 1,000 tonnes of goods from China and the United States by air.
“AliExpress continues to be a favorite foreign online store among Ukrainians, on which not only the number of orders has grown, but also the average check of purchases. If it was $6.6 amid quarantine, now it has grown to $11.6, and the number of orders of protective equipment and medical goods, including masks, respirators, thermometers, etc., rose. But the most popular categories of goods remain phone cases, cables, chargers, clothes, shoes, underwear and dietary supplements,” Nova Poshta Global notes.
Regarding popularity among Ukrainians, AliExpress, according to the company, is followed by the American online stores iHerb, Ebay, Amazon and 6p.m.
According to Nova Poshta Global, the number of orders from customers from Zhytomyr region doubled during quarantine. However, the most active buyers from abroad remain residents of large cities, namely Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, and Lviv.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF) will announce an auction for the sale of the Dnipro Hotel located downtown Kyiv in April 2020, Head of the SPF Dmytro Sennychenko said on Facebook on Thursday, March 12. According to Sennychenko, the SPF, together with the new hotel management, are carrying out financial and technical audit at the facility.
“We have intensified preparations for the auction, that will allow us to start the auction in April and find a new owner for the hotel in May,” he reported.
The SPF head said, the net financial result of the Dnipro Hotel amounted to UAH 146,000 in the end of 2019.
As reported, the starting price of the hotel will be $10 million.
Earlier, the SPF appointed Elina Sapozhkova as the new director of the Dnipro Hotel.
