Young Ukrainian architects and designers will develop a project for a secondary school with a pre-school in Lviv.
“The main idea of the competition is to create a modern educational hub using all the advantages of steel structures. We believe in the creative potential of young creators of Ukrainian architecture and expect interesting non-standard solutions from them,” commented Danylo Apanasenko, curator of Steel Freedom 2024.
The best student projects will traditionally be judged by eight jury members, including leading architects and experts of the Ukrainian construction market.

This year, the organizers of the competition, the Ukrainian Steel Construction Center Association, have prepared several pleasant surprises, including an increase in the prize fund and a nomination from the world architectural firm MVRDV, whose experts will select the best project from all the semifinalists that meets the criteria of imaginative solution, social and environmental impact.
The competition is open to students of architecture and design in the 3rd-6th year of Ukrainian specialized universities. Team registration will take place from September 1 to October 1, 2024, and projects can be submitted until November 1.

The Steel Freedom 2024 final will take place on November 30.
The prize fund of the competition is divided between the first place – UAH 50,000, the second place – UAH 40,000, and the third place – UAH 30,000.
