The volume of construction work performed in Ukraine in January-June 2022 decreased by 2.1 times compared to the same period in 2021 – to 36 billion UAH, according to the State Statistics Service (Derzhstat).
According to the State Statistics Service, in June 2022 the volume of construction works was only 22.2% of the June 2021 figure. At the same time the figure rose by 18.5% in June against May this year.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in the first half of 2022 to January-June 2021 the reduction of construction works was observed in all segments of construction. Thus, the volume of construction work in the residential construction decreased by 2.1 times – to UAH 7.6 billion (37.3%), in non-residential – twice, to UAH 9.9 billion (39.5%), in the segment of engineering structures – in 2.2 times, to UAH 18.3 billion (36.6%).
The share of new construction to the total volume of construction work was 43.8%, repair – 27,4%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 28,8%.
The State Statistics Service notes that the publication of data was delayed due to the martial law. Data excludes temporarily occupied Crimea and temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Grain Capital Group of Companies has started the installation of technological equipment at a silo with a capacity of 21,500 tonnes, which it is now building on the territory of a feed mill in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
We are talking about installing a line for receiving, drying and storing grain, the company said on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
According to the agreement, in the near future the company will install transport and gravity equipment, a grain hopper with a cone bottom, a grain separator with an aspiration system, and silos with cone and flat bottoms.

The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has imposed at a session on Thursday sanctions against individuals and legal entities involved in the construction and operations of the bridge over the Kerch Strait, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said at a briefing following the session.
The NSDC press service said later that those sanctions were imposed on six individuals and 24 legal entities.
Sanctions were also imposed on 18 people involved in the issuance of unlawful court rulings to deprive the Crimea diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine of its property in the temporary occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, it said.
According to the NSDC, 52 people holding senior positions in Crimea were also sanctioned for doing considerable damage to the national interests and security of the Ukrainian people, the NSDC said.
Head of the Transformation Office Maksym Bakhmatov has announced the presentation of the Big Transport Ring tram-bus route project in Kyiv, the construction of which will take UAH 55 billion and 15-20 years.“For the construction of the Big Transport Ring, Kyiv will need 15 to 20 years and UAH 55 billion. This may seem like large numbers. But this is only UAH 3 billion from the city budget. Such projects are usually funded by international financial institutions,” Bakhmatov wrote on Facebook.According to him, the ring will unite 16 routes and cover six districts of Kyiv. The passenger traffic will be 1.6 million people per day.Bakhmatov noted that the construction of the route will be cheaper and faster than the construction of new metro stations.“On December 21, we will present the project to Kyiv deputies and activists. Further, the project will be handed over to Kyiv for implementation. I invite Kyiv authorities, as well as representatives of the central government, for discussion,” he said.
With the participation of the Colliers Ukraine team, a lease agreement for the historic building of the River Station was signed with American University Kyiv (AUK), Colliers Ukraine Managing Director Oleksandr Nosachenko has told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, the lease agreement for the building of the River Station with an area of 7,700 square meters signed for 10 years.
“It is planned that simultaneously 2,000-3,000 students will study at the world-class American University Kyiv,” Nosachenko said.
As reported, the new American University Kyiv was presented in the summer of 2021. It will provide educational services in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU), the number one innovator among U.S. universities.
A number of investors were involved in the implementation of the AUK project, both from the United States and Ukraine. Kurt Volker represented U.S. investors at the presentation of the university in Ukraine.
Built in Kyiv in 1961, the River Station (3, Poshtova Square) is a monument of urban planning and architecture, monumental art (security number 971-Kv). It is expected that after the restoration of the historic building, the university will accept its first students in the next academic year.
Ukraine this year will launch a project to build a new format of hospitals that will correspond to the level of European clinics, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
“One of the steps towards high-quality medicine will be our new project – the launch of hospitals of a new, qualitatively different format, according to the best international standards. Hospitals are equally comfortable for both the patient and the doctor. We are starting this project this year with regional clinical and children’s hospitals, which should correspond to the level of European clinics,” Zelensky said during a speech on the Medical Worker Day, which was broadcast by the President’s Office on Facebook.
According to the president, this project will be implemented in every region.
“The new institutions will become an example of quality for future plans to renovate all hospitals in Ukraine,” he added.
According to Zelensky, the construction of hospitals is also ongoing under the Big Construction national program.
“Some 33 hospitals and 60 rural outpatient clinics have already been created. It is planned to have 30 more medical institutions and 340 rural outpatient clinics by the end of 2021, plus 200 modern admission departments throughout Ukraine,” the president said.
