In 2023, PJSC Ukrnafta increased oil and condensate production by 3% (by 39.9 thousand tons) compared to 2022, to 1 million 409.9 thousand tons, the company’s press service said on Monday.
Last year’s production of natural and associated petroleum gas amounted to 1 billion 97.4 million cubic meters, which is 5.8% (60.4 million cubic meters) more than in 2022.
“I would like to thank the company’s team for not only holding the natural decline in a full-fledged war year, but also increasing production. In difficult conditions, you have made every effort to achieve results,” said Sergiy Koretsky, Ukrnafta’s CEO.
According to him, in 2024, Ukrnafta plans to drill new wells and intensify production, invite partners to the fields and replace old Soviet and Russian equipment with modern world-class models.
As reported, in 2022 the company produced 1.37 million tons of oil and condensate and 1.037 billion cubic meters of gas.
“Ukrnafta’s strategic goal is to double its oil and natural gas production to 3 million tons and 2 billion cubic meters by 2027, respectively.
“Ukrnafta is Ukraine’s largest oil producer and operator of a national network of 537 filling stations, of which 456 are in operation.
Ukrnafta’s largest shareholder is Naftogaz of Ukraine with a 50%+1 share. On November 5, 2022, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to transfer the corporate rights of the company owned by private owners, which is now managed by the Ministry of Defense, to the state.
In January 2022, PJSC Ukrnafta increased oil and condensate production by 5.6% (by 6,900 tonnes) compared to the same period in 2021, to 130,500 tonnes, the company’s press service reported on Monday.
According to it, gas production increased by 3.6% (by 3.3 million cubic meters), to 94.5 million cubic meters.
In addition, production of liquefied gas in January 2022 at the company’s plants increased by 10% (by 990 tonnes) compared to January last year, to 10,870 tonnes.
Ukrnafta clarified that the increase in production is associated with efficient operation of the existing well stock and a reduction in equipment downtime. In addition, commissioned oil well No. 103 at the Verkhnomaslovetske field (Lviv region) had a positive effect on production activities.
“Ukrnafta is making efforts to increase hydrocarbon production, particularly of natural gas. This is an important task both in terms of supplying the domestic market with natural gas during high seasonal demand and for strengthening the country’s energy independence in the long term,” the company said.
Ukrnafta owns 85 special permits for production of hydrocarbons, and has 1,809 oil and 153 gas wells on its balance sheet. The company owns 537 filling stations.
NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy owns 50% plus 1 share of the largest oil producing company in the country, and a group of companies associated with the former shareholders of PrivatBank owns about 42% of the shares.
PJSC Ukrnafta boosted oil and gas condensate production in January 2019 by 4.4% compared to the same period last year, to 128,000 tonnes, while natural gas output grew by 7.4%, to 99 million cubic meters, the company’s press service has said.
“The increase in production is due to repairs to prospective wells and measures to intensify production, including perforating operations with the use of foreign-made systems with increased efficiency,” it said.
The company’s production in February continues to grow it said. So, as of February 14, the average daily production of oil and condensate was 4,200 tonnes vs. 4,100 tonnes in January 2019.
As reported, Ukrnafta in 2018 increased the production of crude oil and gas condensate by 5% (0.069 million tonnes) compared to 2017, to 1.448 million tonnes. Natural gas production in 2018 decreased by 2.3% (0.026 million cubic meters), to 1.082 billion cubic meters, production of liquefied gas fell by 5.2% (6,000 tonnes), to 110,000 tonnes.
