In 2023, registrations of new and used electric vehicles in Ukraine increased 2.8 times compared to 2022 – up to 37.6 thousand, in particular, the share of new ones increased to almost 20% from 17%, Ukravtoprom reported on its Telegram channel.
According to the association, out of the total number of registered electric cars, passenger cars accounted for more than 36.8 thousand, and commercial cars – 770.
Volkswagen ID.4 (2,655 thousand units) became the leader in the market of new battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), Dong Feng / Honda M-NV (559 units) took the second place with a large gap from the leader, and Volkswagen ID.6 was third – 491 units.
Honda eNS1 took the fourth position (327 units), and BYD Song rounded out the top five with 189 units registered.
In the used segment, the Nissan Leaf is confidently leading with 5.19 thousand units, followed by the Tesla Model 3 – 3.282 thousand units; Volkswagen e-Golf – 3.273 thousand units; Tesla Model Y – 2.171 thousand units and Volkswagen ID.4 – 1.74 thousand units.
“Ukravtoprom notes that in December last year, more than 4.6 thousand electric cars were added to the Ukrainian fleet, almost three times more than a year earlier, including more than 4.5 thousand cars and 78 commercial vehicles.
As reported, in 2022, according to Ukravtoprom, the electric vehicle market grew 1.5 times by 2021, to 13.6 thousand units, while the share of new cars increased to 17% compared to 14%, and the most popular car was also the used Nissan Leaf with 2,349 thousand units registered.
Primary registrations of electric vehicles in Ukraine in July 2023 increased by almost 11.5% year-on-year and twice as much as in July last year – up to 3,464 units, including 586 new and 2,878 used, Ukravtoprom reported in its Telegram channel.
The lion’s share of registrations is still occupied by passenger cars – 3389 units (including 581 new and 2808 used), commercial vehicles registered 75 units (including five new ones).
The top five new electric cars on the market in July were Volkswagen ID.4 – 214 units; Volkswagen ID.6 – 44 units; FAW Toyota BZ4X – 38 units; Honda E – 36 units and Dongfeng/Honda M-NV – 32 units.
The top five among used cars were formed by Nissan Leaf – 535 units; Volkswagen e-Golf – 394 units; Tesla Model 3 – 289 units; Tesla Model Y – 190 units and Renault Zoe – 155 units.
According to the Association, in January-July of this year, more than 16 thousand units of battery-powered vehicles passed the first registration in Ukraine, which is almost three times more than in the same period last year.
Earlier the Ukrainian market of electric cars (new and used) was analyzed by the Federation of Automobile Industry (FAU) based on the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (primary registrations and registrations imported from abroad under the customs certificate or cargo customs declaration (GTE).
According to these data, 3,260 electric passenger cars were registered in July, marking a new record of registrations per month, exceeding the June-2023 figure by 3.3% and the July-2022 figure by double.
In total, in January-July, registrations of such cars grew 2.8 times to the same period of 2022 – up to 15.932 thousand units, exceeding the figure for the whole of last year.
At the same time, the share of new cars increased to 21.4% compared to 16.6% in January-July last year.
The top five leaders in the segment of passenger electric cars at the end of seven months were Volkswagen – 24.5% of the market (+1 position compared to seven months of 2022), Tesla – 18.3% (+1 position), Nissan – 16.3% (-2), Honda – 7.7% (+2) and Renault – 5.1% (-1).
At the same time, Volkswagen registrations increased almost fourfold, Tesla – 3.3 times, Nissan – 2.3 times, Honda – 4.7 times, Renault – 2.1 times.
As reported, according to Ukravtoprom, Ukrainians in 2022 purchased 13.6 thousand electric cars (new and used) – 1.5 times more than a year earlier, with the share of new cars increased to 17% from 14%.
1,489 electric vehicles replenished the Ukrainian car fleet in August, which is almost twice as much as in the same month of 2022, but 14% less than in July of the current year, Ukravtoprom reports.
According to a statement on the association’s website on Wednesday, the majority of registered electric vehicles were passenger cars – 1,397 units. (152 new and 1245 used).
Nissan Leaf remains the most popular electric car with 297 registrations in August, Volkswagen ID.4 is second with 154, and Volkswagen e-Golf is third with 150.
The fourth most popular electric car was Renault Zoe – 97 units, and the Tesla Model 3 closed the TOP-5 of the August electric car market, with 60 registrations.
Of the 92 commercial electric vehicles that received Ukrainian numbers last month, 40 units. there were Renault Kangoo Z.E.
In general, in January-August, 7,366 electric vehicles passed the first registration in Ukraine, which is 42% more than in the same period in 2021.
As reported, in 2021, 8,872 electric vehicles were registered in Ukraine for the first time, which is 19% more than a year earlier, the share of new cars increased to 14% compared to 9%.
Interest in electric vehicles in Ukraine in May (according to users’ responses to announcements) against the backdrop of a shortage of gasoline and diesel grew 7 times compared to May last year, for electric scooters and gyro scooters – three times, for the purchase of electric scooters – 4.7 times, according to the press service of the online service OLX.
“In April, Ukrainians faced a shortage of gasoline and diesel, and since then they have been increasingly asking for “green” modes of transport,” the company said in a press release on Monday.
The supply also increased – if at the end of April sellers offered 226 electric cars and 114 hybrids, then in May the number of such ads increased by almost 3.6 and 4.7 times, respectively.
According to the response to one ad in May, Ukrainians were most interested in Opel – almost 11 potential buyers per electric car, Renault and Nissan received an average of eight responses.
A jump in demand, according to OLX Auto, for motorcycles, scooters and scooters was noted from May 23 to May 29, and the most interested in offers were in Kyiv, Odessa and Lviv regions.
At the same time, 127.6 thousand times responded to advertisements for the sale of an electric scooter or gyro scooter in May (4.7 times more than for electric scooters and 46.5 times for electric motorcycles), the leader in demand is the Kyiv region, followed by Lviv and Odessa.
Earlier, the association “Ukravtoprom” in its telegram channel reported that in May, against the backdrop of the fuel crisis, the Ukrainian fleet of electric vehicles (passenger cars and commercial vehicles) grew by 63% by May 2021 – up to 1016 cars (the best figure since the beginning of the year), with the share of new ones rose to 28% against 11% in May last year.
Of the registered 984 units. new passenger electric cars amounted to 287 units. – 67% more than in May last year, and among 32 units. there were no commercial new ones.
In total, in January-May, 3,090 electric vehicles were registered in Ukraine for the first time, which is 2.5% more than a year earlier (the share of new ones is 20%), and Nissan Leaf remains the most popular (567 cars).
TESLA Model 3 is in second place (263 units), Volkswagen e-Golf is third (156 units).
The RENAULT Kangoo Z.E remains the market leader in commercial electric vehicles. – 77 registrations.
Ukraine at the end of the first quarter or beginning of the second quarter of 2022 will launch a program to subsidize the interest rate for leasing electric vehicles, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Rostyslav Shurma has said.”In Germany, France, Italy, 70% of car purchases are leasing at a cost of 0.5-1.5%. Registrations in Ukraine of new and used electric vehicles in 2021 increased by 18.9% compared to 2020 – up to 8,541 units, while registrations of new cars accounted for 14.2% versus 8.9% a year earlier, the Federation of the Automotive Industry of Ukraine (FAU) reported. “The year ended positively. In December, the number of registrations per month exceeded 900 for the first time, amounting to 928 electric vehicles – twice as many as a year ago, and 8% more than in November,” the report says.
At the same time, the three market leaders remained unchanged – Nissan, Tesla, Chevrolet, which together hold 55% of the market.
According to the above statistics, the leader of registrations Nissan (market share 26.1%) last year showed a slight increase (by 1%, or 26 cars) – up to 2,227 units (for 11 months showed a fall of 1%).
At the same time, Tesla registrations (19.6% of the market) decreased by 16% – to 1,670 units, and Chevrolet (with a 9.4% market share) increased sales by 54% – to 802 units.
“It is interesting that almost all brands have increased sales – except Tesla and Kia. In particular, Audi doubled sales, which allowed it to break into the top ten to the 7th place,” the report says.
In the ranking of brands, after the top three, there are Renault (an increase of 76%, to 551 units), Volkswagen (by 80%, to 550 units), Hyundai (by 43%, to 363 units), Audi (up to 334 units), Mercedes-Benz (up 28%, to 236 units) and Kia (down 13%, to 154 units).
Fiat failed to stay in the top ten, which in 2020 took fourth place, and in 2021 – 12th.
