The American University Kyiv (AUK) in partnership with the Arizona State University (ASU) will open in Kyiv soon, representative of the UDAR Vitali Klitschko party Dmytro Bilotserkivets said on Facebook page.
“Our children, who want to get a Western education, but do not always have the opportunity to travel abroad, will soon have such an opportunity in Kyiv, which ranks first in innovation among the U.S. universities. The new university will be located in the building of the river station on the Postal Square,” Bilotserkivets said.
At the presentation of the new university, Kyiv Mayor Klitschko said the city fully supports this project.
“Education is the key to life. Many guys dream of getting an American education. From now they have the opportunity not to go to the United States for education, but to get it here in Ukraine. This is a great idea, a wonderful project that has the full support of Kyiv authorities,” the mayor said.
Bilotserkivets said a number of investors have been involved in the project, both from the U.S. and Ukrainian sides. The U.S. investors are represented by Kurt Volcker, who also took part in the presentation.
It is expected that after the restoration of the historic building, the university will accept its first students in the next academic year.

This is an incredibly difficult task for the competition participants, but at the same time, an exciting and thrilling sight for the visitors!
The horses of rare ancient breeds gathered from distant corners of the world in the Princely stable will be the real stars of the festive program. The representatives of some breeds can be found nowhere else in Ukraine, because they were brought to our country in a single number. The horses can be approached, palmed, taken a photo with and ridden on a horseback or in a carriage.
Shooting from the only operating huge throwing weapons in Ukraine – trebuchets – will be the culmination of the festive program.
The visit to Ancient Kyiv is subject to the requirements of the quarantine regime.

The Center for Mass Vaccination of the Population against Coronavirus, which was created on the basis of the International Exhibition Center in Kyiv (IEC), will work for four days this week, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reports.
“This week, the COVID-19 Vaccination Center, based at the International Exhibition Center, will be open on Thursday and Friday, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 17:30,” the message reads.
It is noted that one can sign up for vaccinations using the Diia application and the Helsi.me portal.
Kyiv City State Administration adds that now the city continues to vaccinate teachers, medical and social workers, participants in the environmental protection organization, as well as people 65 years of age and older.
Vaccination centers were opened in Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa during May 29-30, where local residents can get vaccinated.
According to the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration, 3,467 people were vaccinated at the COVID-19 vaccination center created on the basis of the International Exhibition Center in the capital. In particular, 2,072 people received vaccinations on Sunday.
“Today the number of people wishing to get vaccinated was extremely large. For me, this is an evidence of the awareness and consciousness of people. Such a willingness to be vaccinated gives hope that with the availability of vaccines we will be able to overcome the pandemic in the country and in the world as a whole,” first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Mykola Povoroznyk said.
As reported, the residents of Kyiv who registered in the Diia application were vaccinated with the CoronaVac vaccine. Some 16 teams worked at the Vaccination Center. The vaccination team included a registrar, a doctor and a nurse, who underwent special training.
“All conditions have been created here for a safe vaccination process, and an ambulance team is on duty to provide emergency medical assistance, if any,” the message says.
In Lviv, a vaccination center was created on the basis of the Lviv Arena, which will work next weekend.
According to head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytsky, 1,041 local residents were vaccinated in two days.
“Lviv region is the leader in terms of vaccination rates, today almost 78,000 people were vaccinated and protected themselves from the coronavirus,” Kozytsky wrote on his Facebook page.
He reported that the entrance to the center is free. Also, if additional vaccine is available, the possibility of deploying such centers in other districts of the city will be considered, which will be announced additionally.
Another COVID-19 vaccination center was opened in Odesa on the territory of the stadium of the National University Odesa Law Academy, which will work from 0900 to 1700.
