By September 23, Ukrainian farmers harvested 30.26 million tons of main agricultural crops (+0.6 million tons per week) from a total area of 9.1 million hectares (+0.1 million hectares), according to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian politics and food on Friday.
It is specified that over the week the total area of farmland from which the harvest increased by less than 1% and amounted to about 61% of the previously planned area.
In terms of crops, harvesting of barley and rapeseed has been completed. Wheat was harvested from 99% of the area, peas from 98%, millet from 64% (+6 percentage points for the week), buckwheat from 40% (+6 p.p.), sunflower from 14% (+4 p.p.). o), soybeans – from 6% (+1 p.p.), sugar beet – 5% (+2 p.p.), corn – up to 1%.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the final harvest of barley this season amounted to 5.5 million tons from 1.6 million hectares, rapeseed – 3.1 million tons from 1.96 million hectares.
In addition, by September 23, a total of 19.2 million tons of wheat were harvested (unchanged over the week) from 4.7 million hectares, 1.29 million tons of sunflower (+370 thousand tons) from 478 thousand hectares (+194 thousand tons). ha), 469 thousand tons of sugar beet (+135 thousand tons) from 9.2 thousand ha (+3 thousand ha), 250.7 thousand tons of peas (unchanged) from 109.4 thousand ha, 228 thousand tons of soybeans (+56 thousand tons) from 97.7 thousand hectares (+26.2 thousand hectares), 68.1 thousand tons of millet (+9.5 thousand tons) from 28.8 thousand ha (+2.9 thousand ha), 66.1 thousand tons of buckwheat (+7.6 thousand tons) from 47.2 thousand ha (+6.7 thousand ha), as well as 92.2 thousand tons of corn (+28.5 thousand tons) from 20.9 thousand hectares (+8.7 thousand hectares).
According to the ministry, the average yield for all crops in the current season was 38.4 centners per hectare, including corn – 44.1 centners per hectare, wheat – 41.0 centners per hectare, barley – 34.7 centners per hectare, rape – 28.5 c/ha, peas – 22.9 c/ha, soybeans – 23.3 c/ha, millet – 23.7 c/ha, sunflower – 19.2 c/ha, buckwheat – 14.0 c/ha, sugar beet – 512 c/ha.
As reported, in 2021 Ukraine harvested a record harvest of grains, legumes and oilseeds in the amount of 106 million tons: grains and legumes – UAH 84 million, oilseeds – 22.6 million tons.
In general, 32.4 million tons of wheat, 40 million tons of corn, 10 million tons of barley, 581.5 thousand tons of peas, 191 thousand tons of millet, 110 thousand tons of buckwheat were harvested last year. Sunflower harvest amounted to 16.3 million tons, soybeans – 3.4 million tons, rapeseed – 2.9 million tons.
