BP Bdayvyklyk raised more than UAH 2.2 million to install 18 neonatal respiratory support devices in perinatal centers

Bdayvyklyk charity project has attracted over UAH 2.253 million to install 18 Neopuff devices for respiratory support of premature newborns.
As project initiator Kateryna Sadovaya told Interfax-Ukraine news agency, the funds were used to purchase modern NeopuffTMRD-900 neonatal resuscitators for maternity homes and “Cradles of Hope” centers in Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kropivnytsky, Odessa, Sumy, Rivne, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad and Kyiv, and two resuscitators each for clinics in Lviv and Khmelnytsky.

“To date, 18 breathing resuscitators have been purchased and installed throughout Ukraine and their acute need has been completely covered,” she said.

Sadovaya noted that the original plan called for fundraising to purchase and install 16 resuscitators, but thanks to business participation, more funds were raised, making it possible to purchase four more machines.
Participants in the project included companies working in the Ukrainian fashion industry, which helped hold the first charity fashion markets.
“Ukrainian designers started developing author collections of clothes and accessories especially for the project and organizing exclusive auctions with limited access. Celebrity acquaintances took up brushes, money from the sale of their paintings supplemented the budget of the project,” said Sadovaya.
The Neopuff resuscitator is designed to treat respiratory disorders in newborns by creating a constant positive pressure in the airways directly in the delivery room. The resuscitator allows for a “continuous lung inflation maneuver,” reducing the need for classical artificial ventilation with tracheal intubation, and reducing the length of time babies stay on respiratory support.
