In January, Poninkivska Cardboard and Paper Mill-Ukraine (PCPM-Ukraine, Khmelnytsky region), a major Ukrainian corrugated cardboard producer, increased its corrugated packaging output by 20% compared to January 2023, to 6.85 million square meters.
According to Ukrpapir Association statistics provided to Interfax-Ukraine, the plant continues to be one of the top three producers of corrugated packaging after Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill and Trypillia Packaging Mill.
Last month, the plant also increased production of containerboard by 19.1% to 7.5 thousand tons, and produced 0.08 thousand tons of paper against 0.04 thousand tons a year earlier.
As reported with reference to the data collected by the association from the main enterprises of the industry (since the State Statistics Service stopped providing such data in 2019), in January 2024, the production of paper and cardboard in Ukraine decreased by 7.8% compared to January 2023 – to 53.9 thousand tons, while the production of cardboard boxes increased by 11.3%, to 43.4 million square meters.
In monetary terms, in January, PCBF-Ukraine produced products worth UAH 233.75 million, up 6%.
Poninkivska Paper Mill (formerly Poninkiv Cardboard and Paper Mill), once the largest producer of school notebooks, now has one main production line – paper and cardboard, producing mainly corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging, as well as wrapping and waste paper.
The plant is part of the United Cardboard Company-Ukraine (UCC, Lutsk) owned by businessman Mykola Lobov, whose production assets include, among others, Lutsk KBF-Ukraine (Volyn region), which produced 5.4 thousand tons of various cardboard (up 7.5%) and 3.2 million square meters of corrugated boxes in January (according to Ukrpapir).
As reported, in 2023, PCBF-Ukraine produced almost UAH 2 billion 450 million worth of cardboard, up 3% year-on-year.
A major Ukrainian producer of corrugated cardboard – Poninkivska Cardboard and Paper Factory-Ukraine (“PKBF-Ukraine”, Khmelnytskyi region) in January-June 2023 increased the output of corrugated packaging by 31.6% compared to the same period of 2022 – up to 40.9 million sq. m.
According to statistical data provided to Interfax-Ukraine by the UkrPapir association, thus, the factory continues to be among the three Ukrainian leaders in the production of these products after Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill (108.2 mln sq.m.) and Tripillya Packaging Mill (65.4 mln sq.m.).
According to statistics, in January-June the production of paper at the mill increased by 3.8% to 0.3 thousand tons, containerboard – by 20.8% to 36.9 thousand tons.
At the same time, in June-2023 the production of corrugated boxes increased by 16.4% compared to June-2022 – up to 7.4 million square meters, and paper and cardboard production decreased by 7% – to almost 7 thousand tons.
According to the statistics of “UkrPapir”, in total, Poninkivska KBF-Ukraine for the first half of 2023 produced products worth UAH 1 billion 193 million – 19.7% more than a year earlier.
As reported with reference to the data collected by the association from the main enterprises of the industry, for six months of this year in Ukraine produced 260.55 thousand tons of paper and cardboard (9.8% more than in the same period last year), 239.31 million square meters of cardboard boxes (+18.3%).

The factory is part of the United Cardboard Company-Ukraine (UCC, Lutsk), whose production assets include, in particular, Lutsk KBF-Ukraine (Volyn region), which produced 28.4 thousand tons of various cardboard in January-June 2023 (according to UkrPapir) – 27.6% higher than in January-June 2022.
As reported, in 2022, Poninka CBF-Ukraine produced UAH 2 bln 446 mln worth of products – 6.5% more than a year earlier.
A major Ukrainian producer of corrugated board – Poninkovsky Cardboard and Paper Mill-Ukraine (PKBF-Ukraine, Khmelnitsky region) in January-May increased the production of corrugated packaging by 35.5% compared with the same period in 2022 – up to 33.5 million square meters.
According to statistical data provided to Interfax-Ukraine agency by UkrPapir association, thus, the factory continues to be in the top three after Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill and Trypillya Packaging Mill in the production of these products.
According to statistics, in January-May the production of paper at the factory also increased by 13% to 0.27 thousand tons and containerboard – by 29.7% to 30 thousand tons.
At the same time in May, production of corrugated boxes Ponikovsky CBF increased by 26.2% compared to May 2022, to 7.2 million square meters, and paper and cardboard – by 10.8% to 7 thousand tons.
According to “UkrPapir” statistics, in January-May Poninkovsky CBF-Ukraine produced goods for more than 1 billion UAH – by 34% more than a year earlier.
As reported with reference to the data collected by the Association from the major enterprises of the industry, the five months in Ukraine produced 218.6 tons of paper and cardboard (12% more), and 197.3 million square meters of cardboard boxes (+21.4%).

As reported, in January-March the factory increased corrugated packaging output by 30.4% compared to the same period last year.
According to statistics, in January-April 2023 it also increased the production of paper at the factory – by 30.5% to 0.25 thousand tons, and containerboard – by 36.0% to 22.9 thousand tons.
At the same time in April, production of corrugated boxes Ponikovsky CBF increased by 64.5% compared to April 2022, up to 7.25 million square meters, and paper and cardboard – by 38%, to nearly 7 thousand tons.
According to “UkrPapir” statistics, in January-April Poninkovsky CBF-Ukraine produced goods for nearly 805.13 million UAH – by 46.8% more than a year earlier.
As reported with reference to the data collected by the Association from the major enterprises of the industry, for four months in Ukraine produced 172.76 thousand tons of paper and cardboard (almost 14% more), and 155.30 million square meters of cardboard boxes (+26.3%).

According to Ukrpapir Association statistics provided to Interfax-Ukraine, the mill is still among the top three producers of corrugated packaging after Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill and Trypillia Packaging Mill, and is still the fastest growing.
As reported, according to data collected by the association from the industry’s major enterprises, a total of 78.5 million square meters of cardboard boxes were produced in Ukraine over two months, down only 0.6% from the almost pre-war January-February period last year.
According to UkrPapir, Poninkivska KBF-Ukraine produced a total of UAH 417.44 million worth of products in two months, up 27.9% year-on-year.
In physical terms, paper production also increased by 21.6% to 107 tons and production of containerboard by 12.4% to 11.54 thousand tons.
