UKRAINE RAISES POULTRY EXPORT BY 5%

Ukraine in January-November 2020 increased export of poultry by 5.1% compared to the same period in 2019, to 394,240 tonnes, the State Customs Service has said.
According to its data, in monetary terms, export of these products decreased by 3.6%, to $512.33 million.
At the same time, import of poultry for the 11 months of this year decreased by 17.4%, to 100,030 tonnes, in monetary terms by 13.1%, to $41.88 million.
Export of pork, according to the State Customs Service, rose by 30.2%, to 2,670 tonnes. These products were delivered for $5.8 million, which is 23.9% more than in January-November 2019. Pork import for the 11 months of 2020 increased by 22.6%, to 26,880 tonnes, in monetary terms by 25.6%, to $52.54 million.
In addition, during the specified period, Ukraine reduced export of eggs by 20.8%, to 102,130 tonnes, in monetary terms by 11.7%, to $92.09 million. Egg imports fell by 1.9 times, to 2,670 tonnes, in money terms by 2 times, to $9.58 million.

BELARUS PLACES RESTRICTIONS ON POULTRY IMPORTS FROM RUSSIAN, EUROPEAN REGIONS, UKRAINE IS NOT INCLUDED

Belarus has placed temporary restrictions on the importation of poultry from the Republic of Tatarstan; the regions of Rostov, Samara, and Tomsk, Russia; the areas of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Lower Saxony, Germany; Corsica, France; Central Jutland, Denmark; as well as the provinces of Groningen and Gelderland, the Netherlands, the Veterinary and Food Supervision Department of the Agriculture and Food Ministry of the Republic of Belarus said.
According to the World Organization for Animal Health, cases of highly pathogenic influenza in birds have been reported in these areas, the Belarus department said on its website.
Consequently, as of November 23, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the importation of live poultry, hatching and edible eggs, poultry meat, egg powder, egg mixture, egg albumen and other processed food from chicken eggs, down and feathers, non-disinfected game bird trophies, feed and feed additives, as well as other products from the said regions to Belarus.
All previously issued permits to import the specified goods and products have also been suspended. Meantime, goods and products subject to veterinary oversight and supervision that are subject to the restrictions and which have originated from the said regions prior to November 22 of the current year inclusive follow as per the usual regime, the department added.
“Meanwhile, additional oversight measures must be taken in order to ensure the biological protection of poultry facilities of all types of ownership,” the department said in the statement.

UKRAINE RAISES POULTRY EXPORT IN JAN-SEPT

Ukraine in January-September 2020 increased export of poultry by 6.7% compared to the same period in 2019, to 323,730 tonnes, the State Customs Service has reported.
According to its data, in monetary terms, exports of these products fell by 4.4%, to $420.03 million.
At the same time, imports of poultry for the first nine months of this year decreased 17.2%, to 78,460 tonnes, in money terms by 13.9%, to $32.62 million.
Pork export, according to the State Customs Service, increased 28.7%, to 2,060 tonnes. These products were delivered for $4.62 million, which is 30.2% more than in January-September 2019.
In January-September 2020, pork imports to Ukraine increased 4.8%, to 19,200 tonnes, in monetary terms by 11.3%, to $38.78 million.
In addition, over the indicated period, Ukraine reduced export of eggs by 16.4%, to 88,850 tonnes, in monetary terms by 5.5%, to $79.38 million.
In January-September 2020, egg imports fell by 50%, to 2,090 tonnes, in monetary terms by 54.6%, to $7.47 million.

CATTLE, PIG, POULTRY NUMBERS IN UKRAINE DECREASE IN 2020

Cattle numbers in Ukraine as of June 1, 2020 amounted to 3.47 million animals, which is 6.6% less than on the same date in 2019.
According to the State Statistics Service, the number of cows by this date decreased by 6.3%, to 1.78 million animals.
The number of pigs decreased by 5.9%, to 5.97 million animals, the number of sheep and goats by 6.3%, to 1.49 million animals.
The number of poultry in the country decreased by 1.5% compared to June 1, 2019, to 231.12 million birds.
According to the State Statistics Service, cattle numbers in Ukraine in 2019 amounted to 3.12 million animals, which is 6.5% less than in 2018. The number of pigs decreased by 4.9%, to 5.73 million animals, sheep and goats by 4.8%, to 1.21 million animals, poultry grew by 4.2%, to 220.46 million birds.

UKRAINE SLIGHTLY REDUCES POULTRY EXPORT IN JAN-APR

Ukraine reduced the export of poultry and offal by 0.5% in January-April 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, to 137,850 tonnes, the State Customs Service said.
According to the service’s data, in monetary terms the export of such products decreased by 10.4%, to $178.62 million.
The import of poultry and offal decreased by 33.4%, to 25,870 tonnes, in monetary terms by 33.4% as well, to $10.96 million for the four months of 2020.
According to the State Customs Service, pork export grew 1.9 times, to 941 tonnes. The products were delivered for $2.62 million, which is 2.5 times more than in January-April 2019.
The import of pork to Ukraine decreased by 61.5%, to 3,500 tonnes, in money terms by 56.5%, to $7.22 million for the first four months of 2020.
Ukraine reduced egg exports by 29.4%, to 37,170 tonnes, in money terms by 29.5%, to $33.44 million in the reporting period. The import of eggs decreased by 56.5%, to 892 tonnes, in monetary terms by 61.5%, to $3.09 million in January-April 2020.

NUMBERS OF PIGS, CATTLE AND POULTRY IN UKRAINE DOWN – STATISTICS

The number of cattle in Ukraine as of April 1, 2020 amounted to 3.37 million animals, which is 7.2% less than on the same date in 2019.
According to the State Statistics Service, the number of cows by that date decreased by 6.5%, to 1.78 million animals. The number of pigs decreased by 6.2%, to 5.79 million animals, the number of sheep and goats by 5.6%, to 1.39 million.
The number of poultry in the country decreased by 2% compared to April 1, 2019, to 200.6 million birds.
According to preliminary data from the State Statistics Service, the cattle stock in Ukraine in 2019 amounted to 3.12 million animals, which is 6.5% less than in 2018. The number of pigs decreased by 4.9%, to 5.73 million animals, sheep and goats by 4.8%, to 1.21 million, poultry grew by 4.2%, to 220.46 million birds.
