BIGGEST UKRAINIAN RETAIL CHAINS REMOVE COCA-COLA FROM SALE

Ukrainian retail chains withdraw from sale the products of the American company Coca-Cola Co. due to the continuation of its work in the market of the Russian Federation.
Thus, the chains stop selling Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Schweppes carbonated drinks, BonAqua mineral water, FuzeTea iced tea, Rich juices, Monster Energy Drink and Burn energy drinks.
“Our supermarket chain no longer cooperates with the Coca-Cola company, which continues to operate in the territory of the aggressor. We are abandoning all products belonging to the brand,” the Novus supermarket chain posted on Facebook on Friday.
The Varus chain also announced the termination of the sale of Coca-Cola products.
“We made this decision, taking into account the official position of the Coca-Cola company to continue its activities in the market of the aggressor country,” Varus said.
Fozzy Group also refused to sell Coca-Cola products and condemned the company’s decision to continue operating in the Russian Federation.
“From today, we are removing all products from the shelves of Silpo, Fora, FOZZY Cash&Carry, Market super Thrash (Thrash) stores and stop all future deliveries,” the company’s press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

RETAIL CHAINS DEVELOP ALL-UKRAINIAN MAP OF GROCERY STORES

A team of employees from several Ukrainian retail chains, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, developed and launched an online map of grocery stores in the country with information about the status and time schedule of their work.
The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Roman Leschenko wrote about this on Facebook on Wednesday.
“As of March 1, 2022, the map displays information about ATB, KOLO, Silpo, Fora, Novus, Varus, Rukavychka and ECO-market stores. The online resource will be regularly updated on an ongoing basis and add new retail chains and separate stores. The date and time of updating information on a particular store are indicated in the appropriate fields,” the minister wrote in a message.
He clarified that the map of grocery stores indicates the name of the store/retail chain, the opening hours of specific stores in different cities and their addresses, as well as the status of the outlets.
Leschenko called on all retail chains and grocery outlets to join this initiative.

TOP TEN LARGEST UKRAINIAN RETAILERS INCREASE TAX PAYMENT BY ONE-THIRD

The top ten largest retail chains increased tax payment by UAH 1.2 billion in January-June 2019 or by 29% year-over-year, to UAH 5.4 billion, the Office of Large Taxpayers reported on its website on Tuesday.
According to the report, the largest amount of tax was paid by the ATB network – 57.4% of the total tax paid by the top ten largest retail chains, while its share compared to the previous year did not change significantly (57% in the first half of 2018).
Fozzy Group supermarket chain reduced its share of tax payments of the total amount paid by of the top ten largest retail chains to 12.6% compared with 11.4% in January-June 2018, Metro C&C (Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine LLC, Kyiv) – 8.3% compared with 10.8%, EKO Market supermarkets chain (EKO LLC) – 1.3% compared with 1.5%, Velyka Kishenya (Fudkom LLC, Retail Group, Kyiv) – 1.2% compared with 1.8%, Billa supermarkets (FDI Billa-Ukraine, Rewe Group, Germany) – 0.9% compared with 1.7%.
An increase in the share of tax payments was recorded with Auchan (Auchan Holding, France) – 7.3% from 5.6%, Novus (BT Invest) – 5.2% from 5%, and Fora (Fozzy Group) – 3.6% from 3%.
Varus supermarkets (Omega LLC) have not changed their indicator compared to the first half of 2018 – 2.2% of all taxes paid by the top ten retailers.
The Office of the Largest Taxpayers serves 23 food chains, which in the first half of this year increased tax payments more than 20%, to UAH 10.3 billion compared to UAH 8.5 billion in January-June 2018.
