Sady Dnipra LLC (Gardens of Dnipro, Pidhirne, Dnipropetrovsk region), which grows products under TM UApple, will install a photo analyzer on the fruit sorting line that can examine irregularities on the surface of fruits and under it, which will improve the quality of the company’s products, business owner Vadym Ermolaev wrote about this on Facebook.
“Sady Dnipra will introduce smart sorting technology on its line. We will improve the line photo analyzer – its “brain,” the system that scans the fruit according to several parameters. The line’s ability to recognize defects in apples and pears, the first yield of which will be harvested next fall, will be improved,” he wrote.
Ermolaev said that the company carried out the modernization of the sorting line in 2019, but intends to carry it out this year as well, since it does not want to miss out on the new technology. The photo analyzer module, consisting of a color and infrared camera, can take up to 80 high-definition photos of each apple, as well as analyze every unevenness of the apple on its skin and even under it.
