ILLICH IRON AND STEEL WORKS INCREASES ROLLED PRODUCTS OUTPUT IN 2020

Mariupol Illich Iron and Steel Works (Donetsk region), a member of the Metinvest Group, in 2020 increased the production of general rolled products, according to recent data, by 12.4% compared to the previous year, to 3.67 million tonnes.
As the enterprise told the Interfax-Ukraine, steel production during this period increased by 13.7%, to 4.05 million tonnes, cast iron by 4.4%, to 4.65 million tonnes, and sinter by 12.8%, to 12.34 million tonnes.
In December, Mariupol Illich Iron and Steel Works produced about 320,000 tonnes of general rolled products, 345,000 tonnes of steel, 330,000 tonnes of cast iron, and 1.06 million tonnes of sinter.
Illich Iron and Steel Works is part of Metinvest Group, the main shareholders of which are SCM Group (71.24%) and Smart-Holding (23.76%), jointly managing the company.
Metinvest Holding LLC is the managing company of Metinvest Group.

ENERGOMASHSPETSSTAL INCREASES STEEL PRODUCTION IN 2020

PJSC Energomashspetsstal (Kramatorsk, Donetsk region), owned by Russia’s Atomenergomash (Rosatom state corporation), in 2020 increased steel production by 6.8% compared to the previous year, to 63,000 tonnes.
A source in the industry told Interfax-Ukraine that 3,000 tonnes of steel were produced in December.
As reported, Energomashspetsstal in 2019 reduced steel production by 4.8% compared to 2018, to 59,000 tonnes.
Energomashspetsstal is the largest Ukrainian manufacturer of special cast and forged products of individual and small-scale production for metallurgy, shipbuilding, energy (wind, steam, hydro, nuclear) and general mechanical engineering.

DNIPROSPETSSTAL INCREASES ROLLED PRODUCTS OUTPUT

Dniprospetsstal Electrometallurgical Plant (Zaporizhia) in January-November this year, according to the recent data, increased the output of finished rolled products by 1.4%, to 141,000 tonnes compared to the same period last year.
As the enterprise told Interfax-Ukraine, steel production during this period increased by 2.5%, to 205,000 tonnes.
In November, 21,000 tonnes of steel were smelted, and 13,000 tonnes of rolled products were produced.
The company’s information said that the metal of Dniprospetsstal complies with the European standards for construction, this was confirmed by the certificate №1853-CPR-101 of compliance of the factory production control with the European Regulation 305/2011/EU. The document applies to the production of hot-rolled bars and forgings from structural and stainless steel grades. These products are used for production of metalwork constructions and composite reinforced concrete structures.
“The certificate allows the company to manufacture and supply metal products specified in its scope. In addition, Dniprospetsstal is allowed to affix the CE mark on its products. It indicates its compliance with European standards. Metal products with such a mark are successfully sold in the EU countries,” the company said.
The certificate is valid until November 22, 2023.
As reported, Dniprospetsstal in 2019 reduced the output of finished rolled products by 6.4%, to 152,212 tonnes, steel by 11.2%, to 219,308 tonnes compared to the previous year.
Dniprospetsstal is Ukraine’s only manufacturer of high-quality rolled products and forgings made of special steel grades: stainless, tool, bearing, structural, and also from nickel-based superalloys.

Energomashspetsstal from Kramatorsk increases steel production by 9.3%

PJSC Energomashspetsstal (Kramatorsk, Donetsk region), owned by Russia’s Atomenergomash (state corporation Rosatom), in January-November this year increased steel production by 9.3% compared to the same period last year, to 59,000 tonnes.

A source in the industry told Interfax-Ukraine that 4,000 tonnes of steel were produced in November.

As reported, Energomashspetsstal in 2019 reduced steel production by 4.8% compared to 2018, to 59,000 tonnes.

UKRAINE CUTS STEEL OUTPUT BY 5.9%

Ukraine’s metallurgical enterprises in October 2020 reduced steel production by 5.9% compared to the same period in 2019, to 1.653 million tonnes, ranking 14th among 64 countries, the world’s main producers of these products compiled by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel).
In October, a rise in steel production from October 2019 was recorded in most of the top ten countries, except for Japan, the United States and South Korea.
The top ten steel producing countries in October are as follows: China (92.202 million tonnes, an increase of 12.7%), India (9.058 million tonnes, a drop of 0.9%), Japan (7.2 million tonnes, a drop of 11.7%), the United States (6.143 million tonnes, a drop of 15.3%), Russia (6.05 million tonnes, 4.3% up), South Korea (5.859 million tonnes, 1.8% down), Germany (3.417 million tonnes, 3.1% up), Vietnam (3.372 million tonnes, an increase of 111.5%), Turkey (3.208 million tonnes, an increase of 19.4%), and Brazil (2.784 million tonnes, an increase of 3.5%), and
They are followed by Iran (2.66 million tonnes, an increase of 27.9%), Italy (2.119 million tonnes, a drop of 4.6%), Taiwan (1.66 million tonnes, a decrease of 3.1%), Ukraine (1.653 million tonnes, a decrease of 5.9%), and Mexico (1.47 million tonnes, 1.1% up).
In October, 64 countries produced 161.89 million tonnes of steel, which is 7% more than in October 2019.
In January-October 2020, 64 countries produced 1.511 billion tonnes of steel, which is 2% less than a year ago.

INTERPIPE STEEL REDUCES STEEL PRODUCTION BY 14%

Electric steelmaking complex Interpipe Steel of the international vertically integrated pipe and wheel company Interpipe (Dnipro) in January-October of this year reduced steel production, according to operational data, by 13.9% compared to the same period last year, up to 641,000 tonnes.
As the Interfax-Ukraine agency was informed in the company, 62,800 tonnes of steel were produced in October.
As reported, Interpipe in 2019 reduced steel production by 4.2% compared to the previous year to 854,500 tonnes.
Interpipe is a Ukrainian industrial company, a manufacturer of seamless pipes and railway wheels. The company’s products are supplied to more than 80 countries around the world through a network of sales offices located in the key markets of the CIS, the Middle East, North America and Europe. In 2019, Interpipe sold 823,000 tonnes of finished products, including 202,000 tonnes of railway products. Railway products are sold under the KLW brand.
Interpipe employs 11,000 people. In 2019, the company transferred UAH 3.25 billion to the budgets of all levels.
The company includes five industrial assets: Interpipe Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Rolling Plant, Interpipe Novomoskovsk Pipe Plant, LLC Interpipe Niko-Tube, Dnipropetrovsk Vtormet and Dniprostal Steel Complex under the Interpipe Steel brand.
