“Ukrgasvydobuvannya” has commissioned new well with daily production rate of 250 thousand cubic meters

In the first days of 2024, Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC commissioned a new exploration well with a daily flow rate of 250 thousand cubic meters, the press service of Naftogaz of Ukraine reported on Friday.

The well has a design depth of 3950 meters and was drilled by Ukrburgaz (a branch of UGV).

According to the press service, this is the 10th well in this field, which shows a high result. The company’s specialists continue to explore its potential: using new technologies and engineering solutions, the company is increasing production.

“In some parts of this field, we have good 3D seismic data, which allows us to determine the optimal points for drilling new wells. Ten exploration wells have completed the geological information picture, and we plan to start production drilling this year,” said UGV CEO Oleg Tolmachev.

As reported, in 2022, UGV produced 12.5 bcm of natural gas (commercial), which is 3% less than in 2021. In 2023, the company was set a target to increase natural gas production by 1 bcm to 13.5 bcm.

According to operational data, the company increased production by more than 0.7 bcm in 2023. At the end of 2023, UGV reached an average daily production of 37.5 million cubic meters.

“Ukrgasvydobuvannya” paid UAH 23.8 bln in rent payments to budget

In 2023, Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC paid UAH 23.8 billion in rent payments, the company’s press service reports.

According to the press service, UAH 1.19 billion, or 5%, of this amount went to the budgets of the local and regional levels where the company operates.

The budgets of Kharkiv and Poltava regions received the largest amount of payments – UAH 584.16 million and UAH 496.34 million, respectively.

The amount of rent payments is calculated in accordance with the sale price of Ukrgasvydobuvannya’s natural gas in favor of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

As reported, in 2022, UGV produced 12.5 bcm of natural gas (commercial), which is 3% less than in 2021.

For 2023, Ukrgasvydobuvannya has been set the task to increase natural gas production by 1 bcm to 13.5 bcm.

According to the operational data, the company increased production by more than 0.7 bcm in 2023. At the end of 2023, UGV reached an average daily production of 37.5 million cubic meters.

Ukrgasvydobuvannya drilled two high-yield wells

PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya (UGV) has drilled two high-yield wells, exploration and production wells, with a total daily production capacity of 0.5 million cubic meters.

“One of them is an exploration well at a recently discovered field, the other is a production well at a field that is more than 50 years old,” the company said on its website on Monday.

According to UGV, the drilling location of the exploration well was determined thanks to earlier 3D seismic surveys. The second well is a production well drilled at the “old” field, which has deposits with high residual potential but is characterized by a complicated geological structure.

“The results of drilling this well made it possible to increase gas production relative to the field by 156 thousand cubic meters, as well as to clarify the geological structure of the field and outline further plans for drilling the following wells,” UGV said.

Both wells were drilled by specialists of Ukrburgaz, a branch of Ukrgasvydobuvannya.

“We continue to work with both new and old fields and see that our approaches are effective: these are not the first successful high-rate wells in these fields that add a significant plus to the company’s overall production,” the website quotes Oleh Tolmachov, Acting CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, as saying.

The company aims to increase natural gas production by 1 billion cubic meters in 2023, up to 13.5 billion cubic meters. In 2022, UGV produced 12.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas (commercial), which is 3% less than in 2021.

Ukrgasvydobuvannya increased gas production by 0.5 mln cubic meters per day

Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC has launched five more wells with a daily increase in production of 0.5 million cubic meters of natural gas, the company’s press service reports.

According to the press service, four of the five wells were drilled in “old” fields 45-55 years old. One more is a new field: gas from it first entered the Ukrainian gas transportation system this month.

“To achieve our production growth targets, we combine the use of modern technologies to discover new deposits at already depleted fields and increase investments in research and development of new areas,” said Oleg Tolmachev, Head of UGV.

This approach at one of the old fields has increased daily gas production by 35% over the past two years, and at another by almost 50%.

“The rest of the fields, thanks to the use of modern technologies, have received a new life – they demonstrate stabilization of indicators and the possibility of potential production growth,” the company said.

As reported, since the beginning of the year, UGV has commissioned 58 new gas wells with a total average daily production rate of 5.3 million cubic meters.

The company aims to increase natural gas production by 1 bcm in 2023 to 13.5 bcm. In 2022, UGV produced 12.5 bcm of natural gas (commercial), which is 3% less than in 2021.
