IMK to invest $25 mln in equipment upgrades in 2026

The IMK agricultural holding will not launch any new investment projects in 2026, but will allocate approximately $25 million to equipment upgrades, according to Alex Lissitsa, advisor to the holding’s board of directors.

“We will invest up to $25 million next year, primarily in equipment, but also in our other projects,” he said at the Forbes Agro 2025 conference in Kyiv on Friday.

IMK is an integrated group of companies operating in the Sumy, Poltava, and Chernihiv regions (northern and central Ukraine) in the crop production, elevators, and warehouses segments. Its land bank covers 116,000 hectares, and its storage capacity is 554,000 tons for the 2024 harvest of 864,000 tons.

IMK ended 2024 with a net profit of $54.54 million, compared to a net loss of $21.03 million in 2023. Revenue grew by 52% to $211.29 million, gross profit quadrupled to $109.10 million, and normalized EBITDA increased 25-fold to $86.11 million.

MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR KYIVSTAR UPDATES UNLIM TARIFFS

Mobile communications operator Kyivstar is updating the prepaid tariffs Communication Unlim, Fun Unlim and Video Unlim, doubling the number of megabytes of Internet and minutes for calls to other networks.
The press service of the company said on Tuesday, in particular, in the tariff Communication Unlim subscribers will receive 60 minutes for calls to other networks and abroad, and 6,000 MB of mobile Internet (earlier this tariff included 30 minutes to other networks and 3,000 MB of the Internet). For those who do not need mobile Internet, the tariff has the No megabytes option.
The Fund Unlim tariff now includes 120 minutes for calls to other networks and abroad, 12,000 MB of mobile Internet and even more unlimited applications for entertainment.
For subscribers who choose the Video Unlim tariff, Kyivstar now gives 180 minutes for calls to other networks and abroad, and 18,000 MB of mobile Internet. All tariffs also include a free subscription to the Doctor online telemedicine application.
The operator said that all prepaid subscribers who will switch to one of the specified tariffs from September 1 can use the new conditions. This can be done, including by subscribers with the previous Unlim tariffs.
Since the beginning of 2020, Kyivstar has connected more than 6,000 settlements to high-speed mobile Internet. The operator plans to provide 90% of the Ukrainian population before July 2022 with access to 4G networks.

IKEA UPDATES PLAN OF ENTERING UKRAINE

The Swedish company IKEA, the world’s largest retailer of furniture and household goods, has to adjust its plans to enter the Ukrainian market due to the delayed construction of the Ocean Mall trade and entertainment center in Kyiv, in particular, the company is considering alternative ways for launching business in Ukraine.
“IKEA confirms its desire to change the daily life of Ukrainians for the better by offering affordable products and solutions for home. Due to the delay in construction and obtaining permits for the Ocean Mall shopping center, the company is considering alternative options that will allow it entering the Ukrainian market as soon as possible,” the company told Interfax-Ukraine.
The report says more detailed information regarding the release of IKEA in Ukraine “will be made public as soon as it becomes available.”
As reported, in September 2018, IKEA officially announced the opening of the first store in Ukraine in a city store format in 2019. The object should have been opened in Ocean Mall in Kyiv.
