“Agrotrade” has completed sowing winter wheat for 2025 harvest

Agrotrade has completed sowing winter wheat for the 2025 harvest in the fields of Poltava, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Sumy regions, covering a total of 14.6 thousand hectares, the company’s press service reports.

According to the report, the work went according to plan and all areas have sprouts. In the fields where winter crops were sown early, the plants are already highly developed. And where the crops were sown in the optimal periods, they are in the early stages of development.

“To reduce the cost of growing technology, we have changed our approach to choosing a predecessor crop. Previously, we sowed large areas of winter wheat where we grew winter rape. Under these conditions, it requires herbicide and insecticide protection, which costs about $42-47 per hectare. This year, we reduced such crops and planted soybeans and sunflower on the main area. This way we reduced the cost of autumn wheat protection,” said Oleksandr Ovsyanyk, Director of Agrotrade’s Agricultural Department.

The agricultural holding also implemented all measures related to technological control of sowing. The Online Agricultural Operations Management Center monitored the quality parameters of field work: sowing depth, seeding rate and fertilizer application, speed of machinery, and compliance with field contours to achieve high quality sowing and avoid resource overruns.

We remind you that winter wheat ranks first in terms of area among all crops grown by the group.

As reported, on August 13, Agrotrade started the sowing campaign of winter crops for the 2025 harvest, allocating 27.9 thou hectares for the crops. The area under winter rapeseed increased by 1.3 thou hectares compared to last year to 12.5 thou hectares.

The Agrotrade Group is a vertically integrated holding company with a full agro-industrial cycle (production, processing, storage and trade of agricultural products). It cultivates over 70 thousand hectares of land in Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv regions. Its main crops are sunflower, corn, winter wheat, soybeans and rapeseed. It has its own network of elevators with a simultaneous storage capacity of 570 thousand tons.

The group also produces hybrid seeds of corn and sunflower, barley, and winter wheat. In 2014, a seed plant with a capacity of 20 thousand tons of seeds per year was built on the basis of Kolos seed farm (Kharkiv region). In 2018, Agrotrade launched its own brand Agroseeds on the market.

“TAS Agro” to allocate 22 thou hectares for winter wheat in 2025 harvest

TAS Agro intends to allocate 22 thou hectares for winter wheat, the company’s press service reported on its Facebook page.
“Thanks to the updated modern agricultural machinery, it is possible to ensure an efficient sowing process, combining it with the simultaneous application of granular fertilizers,” the agricultural holding said.
TAS Agro noted that in 2024 it completely abandoned traditional plowing and started using Mini-till technology. This allows to preserve the soil structure, reduce erosion and increase its fertility, which will eventually have a positive impact on yields, the agricultural holding explained.
At the same time, TAS-Agro continues harvesting soybeans on 16 thousand hectares.
“Harvesting started in the best possible time. Teams of specialists are using modern methods and equipment to ensure high harvesting efficiency and minimize losses,” the agricultural holding added.
TAS Group was founded in 1998. Its business interests include the financial sector (banking and insurance segments) and pharmacy, as well as industry, real estate, and venture capital projects.
Before the war, TAS Agro Group cultivated 83 thousand hectares in Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kherson, and Dnipro regions, where it grows soybeans, sunflower, rapeseed, wheat, barley, and corn. In addition, the agricultural holding is engaged in dairy farming (up to 5.5 thousand heads of cattle) and owns six elevators with a one-time storage capacity of 250 thousand tons.

Agrotrade has completed sowing winter wheat on 15.8 thou hectares

Agrotrade has completed sowing of winter wheat on 15.8 thou hectares in Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Poltava regions, which is 4.5 times more than last year, the company’s press service reports.

According to the report, a quarter of the agroholding’s land bank is planted with winter wheat, which is due to the need to comply with crop rotation.

“This season, we completed winter crops sowing very quickly. We prepared for the work thoroughly – we planned the supply and application of fertilizers in advance and made sure that the required amount of seeds was available in our warehouses. So, apart from the war factor, there were no difficulties. We sowed early, and after the recent rains, we already have the first seedlings, which are in good condition,” said Oleksandr Ovsyanyk, Director of Agrotrade’s Agricultural Department.

As reported, the agroholding fulfilled the overall plan for harvesting winter wheat in the 2023 harvest by 110%.

Kernel completed the harvesting campaign and harvested 364,000 tons of winter wheat

Agroindustrial holding “Kernel” has completed the harvesting campaign of early grains in 2022, having collected, according to the calculations of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, at least 364 thousand tons of winter wheat.
As reported on the holding’s Facebook page on Monday, the winter wheat crop was harvested from an area of more than 70,000 hectares with a yield of 5.2 tons/ha.
At the same time, it is specified that the harvesting of early grains and rapeseed was completed before the end of August, despite adverse weather conditions.
“The sowing and harvesting campaigns were complicated by the military situation and weather conditions. Due to precipitation, grain harvesting continued for almost 40 days. Prolonged rains in some regions led to a deterioration in the quality indicators of the grown grain,” explained Igor Chikin, director of the Agribusiness segment, quoted by the press agricultural holding service.
According to him, the agro-industrial group experienced major organizational difficulties in the spring during the Russian large-scale invasion, when the holding was unable to grow winter crops according to the required technology. However, subsequently Kernel managed to optimize the technology and costs, carry out top dressing and protection of crops, thanks to which it was possible to get a good harvest.
The agricultural holding specified that the yield of winter rapeseed in the current season reached 3.4 tons/ha, varying between 2.8-3.7 tons/ha.
Before the war, Kernel ranked first in the world in the production of sunflower oil (about 7% of world production) and its export (about 12%), and was also the largest producer and seller of bottled sunflower oil in Ukraine. In addition, the company was engaged in the cultivation of other agricultural products and their sale.
The largest co-owner of Kernel through Namsen Ltd. is Ukrainian businessman Andrey Verevsky with a share of 39.3%.
The agricultural holding in fiscal year 2021 (FY, July 2020 – June 2021), increased its net profit by 4.3 times compared to FY 2020 – up to $513 million, its EBITDA increased 2.1 times – up to $929 million, revenue – by 38%, to $5.65 billion.
